Re: 15x1 muzzle fixtures?

Interesting ... when I looked just before the posting, the Saker 15x1 RH was not listed!

15x1 muzzle fixtures?

I see the Silencer Shop lists a 15x1 FH for the Specwar. You guys making a 15x1 FH or Brake for the Saker?

Thank you!

Wonder how the AMT would react with a 7.62 Saker on it ...

Re: fa or burst opinions and reasons...

Burst set ups are often clockwork sorts of mechanisms ... if you let off the trigger before the burst is finished the gun stops and the next trigger pull completes the interrupted sequence. Is a bit odd.

Personally I prefer to have the the option of controlling the length of burst myself.

Re: Saker or Omega?

I didn't vote ... because I need the additional strength of the Saker for use on 12.5" 6.8s and .308s. So the Omega is not a good fit for my uses.

If you are not going to do full auto or short barrels the Omega is a good choice.

Re: Specs to handle a 308 8" barrel?

My 12.5" 308 piston gun is brutal without a can mounted. Even then ... I don't think it is useable in a confined space.

Can tell you that an 8" supersonic 308 is going to be a monster indeed.

Re: Specs to handle a 308 8" barrel?

Should you choose to go abt 8" 300 BLK with 1:7 or 1:8 twist (preferably 1:7) for subsonic only, I can tell you that an Octane 9 HD2 works nicely indeed.

I built mine with a 3 lug and a Spectre length rail. Wonderful fun!

Re: New SilencerCo Octane vid

Probably has something to do with the end cap of the Octanes actually retaining the core parts of the suppressor as opposed to the Saker fittings that do not.

Re: Chemistry Question: The "dip"

Charleston was pretty rough in the late 70s and early 80s. The environmental situation in the Kanawha Valley improved rather dramatically in the later 80s and into the 90s. By the time Union Carbide was acquired by Dow in 2001 there really was not a time in the spring when the air became noticeably ...

Re: Chemistry Question: The "dip"

Insoluble materials precipitate. By definition, if it is insoluble the reaction is driven strongly to the right leaving little of the starting material (acetate). The greater challenge is to understand the conditions under which the precipitate might be handled. For example, there are supposed to be...

Re: Getting the lead out

Be VERY careful with used dip ... contains ionic lead that is very easily taken into the body! You can precipitate the lead as insoluble lead chloride from used dip by adding table salt (NaCl) to it. Just us enough ... and then filter it out. The insoluble lead chloride is much safer to handle!

Re: sarasota Fla sheriff dept. will not sign to allow class 3

Is not an uncommon problem other places ... and the reason that many went the Trust route. Trusts do have some advantages in that members of the trust can legally possess. The near term problem is that BATFE is considering a change in their requirements that would mean all members of Trusts would ha...

Re: 300 blackout (Omega vs. Saker vs. 7.62 Sandman-L)

Have used an SAS Ti Arbiter and a Specwar on the 16" 300 blks. My 8.5" 300 BLK SBR is set up w a three lug and have used it with both Octane 9 and Octane 45s. Have a Saker in NFA jail. I assume it will be much like the Arbiter and Specwar ... very quiet. The pistol cans are hearing safe wi...

Have both. ASR is easier to mount and be absolutely certain that it is in place and locked.

That being said the MAAD mount is very solid if when it goes on properly.

Re: Looking for a titanium .308 suppressor

I too have an SAS .308 Ti Arbiter. Am most pleased with it. Essentially no POI shift, light, and quiet. Would have bought a second if I could have gotten the distributor to call me back. Looks like the new Silencerco Omega might be a very nice device. A little heavier than the Arbiter but very quiet...

Re: SilencerCo Omega

Dtom,

I saw that ... but I expect the Saker is more rugged. I would not want to get a titanium suppressor very hot. May not be an issue for the majority of folks.

Note that the Omega is restricted to barrel lengths longer than the Saker.

Nonetheless ... the state of the art progresses for sure!

My, my! I have two 7.62 Sakers in NFA jail. The one thing that does seem to be constant in the last 4 years is that I get things on order ... and a can with better specs for at least some uses shows up in the market. Only thing I can comment on the Omega is that the use of titanium to reduce weight ...

Gee whizz guys!

That's actually a nice list of a lot of folks that serve or have served a career ... often not making what they could in a normal private economy! A decent thing to do I think!

Have a 1:10 16.5" Remington M700 SPS. Has been restocked with an aluminum cradle and removable magazine). Is fitted with a 7.62 Specwar with a brake mount. Tend to run 175 gr OTMs supersonic (M118 or SMKs). Precision is excellent. The Specwar is easy to mount and dismount and has a positive loc...

Re: Caliber ratings for Octane's

I believe the Silencerco rep indicated that the Octane 9HD could handle 9x25 Dillon supers ... that is about the most potent of the 9mm cannon round I am aware of ... save possibly the .357 AutoMag.

Good to go to the source though!
