Re: storing a suppressed weapon?
When storing the rifle muzzle down, are the guys that do this suspending the rifles, say from the buttstock, so the weight of the rifle isn't supported by the suppressor, or does it matter? Doesn't matter, just firing the gun is throwing more force on the threads than your 8 lb gun. If your barrel ...

Re: Can I Buy Can through Dad's Company?
You don't usually see "inexpensive" and NFA stuff being discussed simultaneously. If your dad's company buys a suppressor and "gifts" it to you, you will still have to get CLEO approval to register it to you individually. Not sure how an LLC works but the trust route you can add ...

Re: Hiring ban for the BATFE lifted !
The wait time used to be in the 3 month time frame, didn't it? I understand there were fewer forms being submitted but I doubt they had a huge staff a few years ago. What was the examiner to form ratio then, and why, if it's about to become similar, is it unreasonable to think the times may drop? Mo...

I don't know why more research is needed. Unless you're making your own reloads, Fiocchi is hard to beat.

Anyone know of a reasonably priced in-stock source for the 158 gr Fiocchi? They're sold out at the moment, but Palmetto State Armory sells Fiocchi 158gr for $14.95 per box of 50. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/handgun-ammunition/9mm-luger/fiocchi-shooting-dynamics-ammunition-9m...

Re: 17 hmr in a 22 can?
The manufacturer who made my 3 suppressors makes a .22 suppressor out of stainless steel rated for .17hmr and .22mag versus aluminum like the other .22lr only cans they make. However, I imagine this doesn't apply to all steel vs aluminum .22 cans...check with individual manufacturers.

Shannon Siviero. She's been quick (relatively) for a lot of people I know who are buying NFA... Move to SC or GA.
I hope she meets or exceeds those dates I posted with my next one. Pending early August...fingers crossed I see it before Christmas.

Re: accuracy of NFA TRACKER DOT COM?
I think anyone who expects a form 4 individual to go from pending to approved in 4 months right now has extremely unreasonable expectations. . The info from my last can: Pending 8 March 12 Approved 31 July 12 Thats 4 months, 23 days, with a delay from a problem status. I have another pending date o...

Re: Check cashed in April, still waiting. Is this a record?
After seeing the time trend go longer and longer I just budgeted 8 month which got confirmed when I called the agent doing my paperwork. I checked on a pending date last week and got the same old "expect it in 6 months" reply. When you say "agent doing your paperwork" do you mea...

Re: Another rifle or more ammo?
If you want a quality rifle that isn't maxing out your price range, grab a BCM M4 Mod 0 for right around $1000. A decent optic for around $400 and you still have some leftover for ammo.

Re: Check not cashed, when should I worry?
Whether it was you or the dealer, someone sent it in three weeks ago. That's the important part. The NFA branch contact # is (304) 616-4500. I have only tried calling M-F during EST business hours. All the cans I've ever purchased were in-stock, so I've never had to deal with the increased wait time...

Re: Check not cashed, when should I worry?
Combining my times between mailing and check cashed, the average time is 8 calendar days. They have been getting quicker over the last 12 months, so realistically it should be quicker than that.

Re: Dumb question but I gotta ask...
Hmm...
.30 = 7.62mm and 7.62mm < 9mm
So...you're trying to use a bullet path designed for 7.62mm (or smaller) with a 9mm projectile.

Re: Check not cashed, when should I worry?
When did you mail it in?
If the check hasn't cashed in two weeks, I would be calling.
I sent my most recent Individual Form 4 packet in on November 1st and the check was cashed November 7th.

It's another option where they seem to be somewhat limited. I can attest to the quality and performance not to mention for me it's supporting local small business versus the "big guys".

Re: Do I use 1 or 2 liters of water to run rifle suppressor
This may be a no brainer, but if you put a condom on the can, use a regular, non-lubed (or other) type. It'd be bad enough to melt a rubber onto the suppressor, but to breathe in a ton of burned off Trojan lube would be unpleasant, to say the least. Might be a better alternative to firing a round th...

It's not on their home page yet but they advertised it on their Facebook page: User Serviceable "Interceptor" series available in 5.56mm and 7.62mm coming in early '13. I'm not affiliated with IA in any way except owning a few of their products so I'm excited to see this coming out. I don'...

Re: how clean does my .22 can need to be
They are right about the .22 Quiet performance. I marked a full 6" drop at 50 yards. I experienced no POI change at 50 yards with CCI subsonics, though.
A .22lr suppressor will be my next one, so I read the maintenance threads pretty regularly. I am going to look into the soda blaster.

Re: Will be firing my silencer for the first time this week
Congrats on the .22 can. I recently broke in a new one last weekend. I shot it on a bolt action Savage MKII FSVR and an older semi auto .22 repeater. CCI .22lr quiets (710fps) were super quiet on both, but failed to operate the action on the semi auto. They were great on the bolt gun, but dropped ab...

Re: Any opinions/info on Innovative Arms? (9mm can)
I have an Innovative Arms Lex 9mm with a left handed twist booster piston to run on my Glock factory barrel. The Lex can be run wet, which reduced the FRP, but to my Iraq damaged hearing, I couldn't tell much difference after it. Maybe a dB meter would say otherwise. As far as not being able to take...
