Re: Quick question in todays strange NFA world
The NFA branch has been through lots of revamps the past few years. Not just with personnel, but with form processing also. No one knows to what extent. Could be that submissions are screened initially by support staff. Catching errors and what not. Then the legit forms are sent off to another queue...

Re: muzzle breaks, flash hiders, and deciding between the two..or three rather..
300 BLK doesn't need a brake IMO, no matter what barrel length. Mainly because the recoil is mild. And its muzzle pressures are low enough not to worry about baffle protection much. A supersonic BLK round in a 9" barrel has roughly the same muzzle pressure as 556 in a 16" barrel. Someone r...

Place the muzzle brake wrench flat area in a vice. Then you can twist the ASR ring.
Clean up the threads and use Rocksett for muzzle devices.

Re: 10/22 Factory Threading
The flash hiders can definitely be removed. The threaded length for rifles is longer (0.600") than typical pistol barrels (0.400"). Most dedicated 22 cans are designed around the shorter threads, so you will need a spacer. Preferable a high quality threaded one, not just a slip-on. I would...

Re: Thinking of getting Centerfire Suppressor - Help Please
In a nutshell: quietest 45 suppressor with no FRP? Obsidian 45 or Octane 45 FRP exists to some degree in all silencers, pistols and rifles, whether you hear it or not. Generally, FRP is more pronounced in monocore cans than ones with individual baffles. The Osprey is monocore and can't be disassemb...

Re: Thinking of getting Centerfire Suppressor - Help Please
According to the 45M manual, the Tirant baffle stack is still the same... 1 SS blast baffle and 8 Al ones. And the removable front tube is Al, not Ti. The grey and black colors don't indicate steel or aluminum. There's no mistaking the steel blast baffle from the others; it's much heavier. Was hopin...

They had a small batch of 1/2x28 pistons a few months ago. Ran out pretty quick. Nothing yet on any other pistons. Same scarcity with muzzle devices i'm sure.

Re: questions about multiple caliber suppression
There is no increased risk in endcap kisses if everything is manufactured within specs, and the can isn't loose. There's definitely a dB difference between a 9 and 45 endcap. But depends on the shooter's ears if they can perceive it. When you own both sizes, just always be extra alert as to which on...

Re: Standard suppressor mounts and taper lok barrels
Ok i had to watch a recent youtube video to make sure I understood what's going on with this so-called taper cap. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQFO8QlE734 That kinda looks iffy to me. Sig parts quality and manufacturing tolerances are no doubt top notch. But still, at best this introduces toleran...

You can continue to use the older 2014 (even 2010) version. Actually it's recommended since the newest version is longer and more complicated now.

They can't do that legally since it would change the caliber of the can.
Besides, i doubt Silco does any custom work for individual end users.

300 RUM is still the bigger cartridge, so i'm inclined to say the Specwar should be fine with 300 Norma.

Re: SBR MPX Form 1 question
Recently bought a gen2 factory sbr MPX. The Form 3 to my dealer was approved with the model listed as "MPX", but the examiner noted that "3d = SIG MPX" So on my Form 4 I put SIG MPX for the model. Makes sense since the actual engraving on the lower says: SIG MPX MULTI-CAL. I got ...

Re: SBRing an AR pistol with a SIG Brace. Handgun and SBR?
The Sig brace fiasco was dumbfounding. From a mental/psychological aspect mostly. The most important thing is to have an approved stamp, period. Then you can safely play these rifle/not-a-rifle/SBR/pistol/shoulder/not-shoulder/state-lines mindgames all you want..... unlike what happened to this poor...

Length restrictions only concern supers. BLK subs are very similar to just a hot 45acp load, so no worries about barrel length at all.

Sakers can use both MAAD or ASR. Swapping new mounts is up to the dealer. If the dealer can't do it, Silco will swap it out for free also.CanOfWhooppass wrote:I've never heard of it offered with anything other than maad mount.

Re: Beretta 92s threaded for silencer
There are official thread specs for 92 barrels. Because of the shorter protruding length, threads are only 0.33" long vs the normal 0.438". You can safely use the shorter threads. Just be sure to check the tightness often. The shorter thread length tends to loosen/back off quicker than nor...

Re: Form 3 Wait Times...Am I missing something?
My MPX form 3 transfer was submitted 3/28 and approved 5/18.... just over 7 weeks. And just an FYI for future MPX xfers: the correct model name should be "Sig MPX" not just "MPX" since that's how it's engraved on the lower. Was damn lucky the F3 wasn't kicked back so close to the...

Re: Piston on a solid barrel (pistol cal rifle)
Not a problem with the fixed spacer.
Don't have much of a choice anyway since AAC never made fixed mounts for Tirants.
Or you could use the 3-lug system on the 9mm host. And get the Triad adapter:

Re: AAC Illusion 9 indexing on sig MPX?
Was thinking maybe one of the existing Tirant or Evo fixed spacers would work, but after looking at the Illusion's spring... it's way longer. Several coils longer than a Tirant's.
Pretty sure AAC already has some Illusion spacers in-house. Just not mass produced yet.
