Re: CGS Group Kraken 9

I just watched a fairly lengthy video ... wondering what you guys could tell me about them since it was the first that I had heard of it. Oh, here's the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iZ7bHCWlMo Yes, a lot of his videos are mind-numbing long. As of Aug '17 independent testing ranks the Kra...

Re: Octane 9: Looking for top tier 9mm pistol host for dedicated range role. Heavy, low bore axis, no gas in the face.

From what I've read over the years, what I've seen and read on YouTube - especially Silencer Shop stats - and personal experience the quietest 9mm hosts out there are the Sig MK25/226, the Colt 1911 9mm and the S&W MP9. Beretta 92 models are also up there in the quiet category, and pretty much ...

Through Dec 31 you get $350 worth of accessories free including a three lug mount. It's through Rugged Thanks, I see it now... ugh, I'm a dealer and exempt from the special.... I've transferred Dead Airs and Griffin Armament to myself and got the specials.. Oh, well, I guess with the dealer price i...

I just watched a fairly lengthy video about the CGS Group Kraken 9. I know it's hard to tell a lot about silencers in videos, but from what I heard, it sounded really good. Re: Octane 9: Looking for top tier 9mm pistol host for dedicated range role. Heavy, low bore axis, no gas in the face.

I'm struggling to find opinions of people that have experience comparing with multiple handgun hosts. The interwebs say the 226 and the USP are the best hosts ever, but I just don't love them even though I want to. I love my CZ 75 SP-01, but it is extremely gassy in the face. Glock 17 is not gassy ...

Re: NTC Trading Solvent Traps

Dont waste your money, bought a kit , used a Maglite as the can. I had better success with the freeze plugs. Buy a factory suppressor, save your money and time. Good advice. As the "solvent trap" businesses are being shut down by ATF and repeat offender owners of such businesses are being...

Re: Does anyone have any experience with OSS suppressors?

I just got my Sig SRD 45 and SRD 22x suppressors. I've shot the SRD 45 and love it. Very quiet with sub-sonic ammo. I need to get my .22 barrels threaded but I suspect similar sound dampening results. Anyways, I've got the suppressor bug and was wondering if anyone has used the OSS suppressors. I'm...

I'm awaiting mine (it's in jail) and I just bought the pistol piston pack. Now the question is: what 1911 host has sights that actually clear the top of the can? Or are at least level with it. It'll still be fun to throw on the 300 Blackout pistol and the .30-06 but I was really hoping to make it p...

Re: Has anyone tried the gemtech 10/22 barrel?

...snip.... The only way to make it quieter is to put it on an action that locks closed, like a bolt action. Which is why Ruger should have designed the American Rimfire rifles to use 10-22 barrels. How great would that be? Really, really great I say. That wouid be great! AWC sells an integrally su...

Re: Has anyone tried the gemtech 10/22 barrel?

There is no room inside the gemtech mist to add anything beside a little excess lube. The cover tube is a nice snug fit over the mono baffling. You put more than about 200 rounds through with out opening it up and you will need a vise to break it free. It works so well you don't need to improve it,...

Re: Disappointed in new can

I tend to believe the muzzle blast instantaneously (< 20ms) increasing the pressure in an entire room would defy the laws of physics unless the room was very small. A jackhammer in a parking lot is quieter to the ear than a jackhammer in a garage even though there is no muzzle blast to fill the roo...

Re: Has anyone tried the gemtech 10/22 barrel?

If there's room, you may want to try the choreboy trick. Dater's trick I think. You unroll a copper-plated stainless choreboy-type scrubbing pad (or pure copper mesh if you have a source, and flat sheets of mesh would obviously make this easier to roll around the barrel) then stretch it and roll be...

Re: Silencers, dirty brass, and malfunctions. I need some help

Kind of late to the game. I had a similar issue with my 7.5" 300BO SBR using 220gr Berry's and CFEBLK. I went back to 1680 or IMR4227 and the problem seemed to resolve itself. In my 5.56mm 7.5" SBR I I had a similar issue (not the greenish brass). In this gun I installed an Adams Piston C...

That would be nice as I have a Rugged Obsidian and a Sico Octane. I've got the Griffin .45 three lug coming and will soon have a Revo .45. Have a Ghost M on the way, will have to check that one too.
Thanks!

I want to actually take it out and shoot it paper from a rest this weekend. If you like 10/22 and suppressors you have to get one. Only draw back is I don't think more than 100 or so rounds should be put through it with out a little cleaning. I just run a bigger than .22 cal brush to scrub the cham...

Hows the accuracy. Sometimes I only get one shot at varmints around the house with some at a distant. I don't like finding that on flyer on a prefect head shot only to miss......
