Re: 22 suppressor maintenance question
I have been very tempted to try taking my 22LR can apart and throwing all the internals into my drum tumbler with SS media. I know my brass cases come out great... Anybody have any thoughts about this? What can do you have? If the baffles are aluminum, I would say no. I will say that when I've shot...

Re: Octane fixed mount specs
Does anyone use an Octane 1/2x28 fixed mount with their Beretta 92? I'll go see if it fits ... ETA: Nope ... it is a problem. The mount will thread too far on and will prevent the slide from going into battery. Get the fixed spacer if they still sell it. On a side note, I would shoot the 92 with th...

Some of the things that can be done to make it quieter (slightly) are to put in a stronger spring and to mill a small ring in the chamber to delay the extraction a bit.

Re: Henry no longer at SWR/Silencerco?
Rumor has it that Henry Graham is no longer at SWR/Silencerco. He was reportedly fired last Friday and escorted from the building. What's going on out there? I heard this as well. I haven't seen any press release or anything like that. There was a post, briefly, by someone else saying the same thin...

Re: Finally obtained both of my cans, Octane question
I've been tumbling in Steel Pins. The gold color is from heat treating. Mine are still gold so it must be your solution but nothing to worry about. For stubborn spots pull the baffles out one at a time and scrub them wet with a bronze brush and drop them back in. Flip them on end too. They are hot s...

Just asking. I read the long drawn out post. Soundtech I have 2 custom{yes custom! only 2 in existence} cans from Mark White himself. But it would help in the future to post a question of that nature with a bit of detail. Because no one likes the included statements when it comes to building a supp...

Re: WARNING!!!!!!!!Element 2 finish problems!!
I just did that to a prototype Spectre. I was using Slip 2000 750 de-greaser. A good portion of the black oxide came off (must have been bad surface prep as the production Spectre done at the same time was fine). I ended up tossing it in with the last round of 9mm brass in the stainless media tumbli...

Is the problem with the adapter or the can?hardcase wrote: What I think I need to do is find a gunsmith who can drill out the hole so a .40 S&W will work and I could also use my 9mm.
You can drill the adapter to work, you can not drill the can sadly.

Emilio, Take a deep breath, you are going to have a heart attack or a stroke. I don' think the folks that left SWR during the transition are upset. I had a full time job at the time (and still do). If I had been willing to move to UT, I suspect I could have been part of SilencerCo. This is typical i...

If your going through the trouble you might as well do it right. I have an SWR Octane 9 HD2 and it is awesome! User serviceable and very high quality. I have held but not shot other 9mm cans such as the Huntertown Arms Kestrel and a YHM Cobra 9mm. The Huntertown is at least twice as heavy as my Oct...

Paco Ramirez left with GaLeo. They were buddies too, and when Galeo left -- due to an extraordinarily vigorous round of cop-bashing -- Paco left too. And yet we still tolerate it. Those were some real good people to lose. Much better as contributors than the resident bashers. I still talk to Paco. ...

You guys are great... I can see this is going to be a great place! I'm in Eastern WA, FWIW. I've considered going with getting a larger can (as my username implies, I do indeed own a 1911) but have never been sure about how well suppression is when shooting sub calibers through it. However, I think...

Noone makes them now. I sent the ATF one of sumrkn's pictures and was told that as that drawing is done it could be considered a silencer part. They sent me a picture of the AWC regulator from their archive's and said they USED to allow this but haven't considered them adapters in years and that is...
