Re: Which of these two is gonna work better?

It depends.... :D The bottom one metered at 123 dB (it's mine). The top one will meter the same or better if you get enough internal volume. The offset chamber design above is really a curved-slant-wall design, if you want to look at it that way. The picture above probably doesn't show it but I cut ...

Re: Best 22LR can for these hosts?

There are a lot of awesome cans out there. I'd recommend the SWR Spectre for what you're using. The Element is cool too, but the end cap can unscrew down in the shroud of the SB-X barrel when you go to remove the can from the weapon. You ought to ask TacSol if a 1.063" dia. can will fit (I'm no...

Re: Jailbreak Groupbuy!!!! 215 returned!

Any difference in Type 2 vs. 3 anodizing far as performance / durability? Curious... why switch anodizing method? I've found that the type of anodizing has little impact on how much erosion occurs around the blast baffle bore hole (and usually the second baffle too). The aluminum underneath is just...

Re: SS Sparrow Review

A spritz of water from a nasal spray bottle or eyeglass cleaning solution bottle will kill the FRP. It will also get better once some crud builds up. The funny thing is, that FRP is what the old 22Sparrow typically average for a 10 shot string. 8) The fact that it's noticeable goes to show just how...

Re: Rust in Opened Ti Rant

That's a lot of rust for SS. It looks to me like there was a material mix-up at the factory. Hey, it happens in a lot of machine shops--more often than they like to admit. It has a really high likelihood when the work is farmed out to subcontractors.

Re: "Range rods?"

Take the bolt out and look down the bore. Unless you are blind. Which in that case why are you reading an online forum and responding, and why are you out shooting? Bowen is spot on here. You'd be amazed what you can see by looking down the bore from the chamber side. As you look from side to side ...

Standing ovations for your involvement with an outstanding design. A+ on your final exam. Best. Thanks for the kind words Historian. I appreciate it. How would you compare the 22Sparrow to the Kodiak TL, based on everything you previously stated. Also which one sounds better? As for the Kodiak, I'm...

Re: SWR Trident 9 Vs Osprey 9mm

I have a trident 9mm and love it. How ever I like the Osprey design a little. Makes it so I would not need to change sights on some of my other hosts to shoot. So is the osprey as quiet as the trident on a glock 17? I have heard of people saying to buy the 45 can osprey and run a 9mm adapter? I am ...

Re: Best 22lr suppressor

The 22Sparrow is going to give you the best all around performance (rifle to pistol) and nothing touches it on the ease of disassembly and cleaning -- it's all steel. You can easily shoot it to 1000 rounds and then disassemble by hand. Weight-wise it fits in between the super light aluminum cans and...

Re: Looking for a can

Best balance of light weight and size would be the 9Osprey IMO. You're looking at under 10 oz., approx. 7" in length, and great suppression. The only drawback would be that it couldn't be used for high velocity rifle use--but it sounds like you don't really want to go the rifle can route anyway...

[ Well could the SOURCE tell you what is the projected price per 500 is ? "Yes, it's CCI--which is good thing in my book." I would like to ask you do you have proof it's CCI or where you just saying that you strongly believe it is? Why I ask is they are coming in bricks of ammo not the 100 rd plastic sleeve's. I would pay less per 500 bricks of CCI then have to...

Re: Gemtech 22lr ammo

Yes, it's CCI--which is good thing in my book. I wish they would have copper-washed it, though. I've noticed a huge difference in lead deposits when using copper-washed ammo. This makes me question just how far they wanted to go with the whole clean-ammo-thing. CCI is cleaner than most anyway, so if...

Re: Servicable Can Prep

I think CLP at a minimum, but I've had good look with anti-seize. It's messy, but at some point you pretty much cook off anything. anti-seize is really just some metal suspended in grease with the metal acting as a sacrificial metal for corrosion protection. I think the metal powder in it helps keep...

OP, Why is sound not on the must have list? I am conceding on sound slightly to expand the possible choices. Since it will also be on a 11.5" primarily I think that is a fair concession to make. In the end though, I still wont buy a loud can. I overheard the Surefire guy at SHOT say it reduced...

Re: Round stuck inside 308 can, what now?!

You guy's sure can come up with the most interesting and detailed solutions, but not the simplest! The problem is picking up a live cartridge and withdrawing it out of a suppressor, without having to cut the tube. I think the easiest way to do this WITH PRECISION is with a length of small diameter ...

Re: Round stuck inside 308 can, what now?!

Got a friend who works at a paintcenter? I'm thinking an hour in the paint shaker (face down) might work. "Da'Dip" is 50/50 vinegar/hydrogen peroxide and eats lead (and not aluminum/people/animal safe) but not steel. On an unfired cartridge, I'm not sure what it would do. Hollowpoint it w...
