Fallen Soldiers' Families Denied Cash as Insurers Profit

link Inside was a letter from Prudential about Ryan’s $400,000 policy. And there was something else, which looked like a checkbook. The letter told Lohman that the full amount of her payout would be placed in a convenient interest-bearing account, allowing her time to decide how to use the benefit....

Re: US vs. Reynolds, state secrets privilege

I wonder if there is grounds there for a suit of some kind. The government clearly abused power and resource to cause harm (in addition to that caused by the loss of life) to those families. I'm sure that ther is a statute of limitation r some other loophole to let the government off the hook, but ...

US vs. Reynolds, state secrets privilege

Lots of time to listen to the radio at work. Yeah, it's npr but they have good programs. One involved a story of a B-29 mission in 1948 that was testing a classified piece of equipment. Three civilian technicians were aboard and the flight crashed. The three widows sued to get the accident report. T...

Century Gothic font uses 30 percent less ink

Heard this on the radio. The font Century Gothic uses 30 percent less ink when printing. Checked it out on Word and it looks like a good font. I can dig saving money and extend the time from when I need a new laserjet cartridge. It's one of the options in Word. They said cartridge ink costs about $1...
