I use good old w231 and 147g MG total metal jacket.
You could have issues with plated bullets also but start with powder and bullet weight.

Re: Waiting on my first suppressor, trying to decide on host
Weak point can be firing pin if dry fired but they sell them too and the slide locks back so no risk of dry fire abuse I would expect that issue with any .22, I tend to avoid dry firing any of my older guns as well as any rimfire or cap lock weapons. As far as price and aesthetics go, I really appr...

Re: Waiting on my first suppressor, trying to decide on host
They make a few "lite models now. http://cdn2.tooeleshootingsupply.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Ruger-3906-150x150.jpg You mean the front sight is low on tapered barrels but they made bulls too. Threading cost as much as replacing safety bits so moot point there. I did this one to f...

Re: Waiting on my first suppressor, trying to decide on host
My little Smith would fit his needs if it's "cool" enough. He might consider installing the threaded bushing as a " project". I actually love this setup, it has a very interesting appeal. How does the range suffer from the shortening of the barrel? What is required in ...

Re: Joe @ Red Jacket Introduction!
I am sure everyone has seen this weeks news with Will Hayden. He made the news as mentioned previously in this thread but he has been rearrested. The series has been canceled and Red Jacket has filed to separate the company from Will. Next step is to change the name as it is now irreversible tainte...

No love for the 22/45 Cap'n? Although I would agree about skipping the MkIII +1 on doing stupid stuff later unless you have the money now to be able to throw away your mistakes or take a big loss on them It's not so much an age thing IMHO as it is how soon you can afford to fix your mistakes vs how...

Re: 1911Threaded Barrel needed for Springfield Operator
I've fitted two storm lake barrels and they are a very good bang for the buck and go on sale often . I cut and threaded a 6" to a $280 Norinco that out shoots most .
Stay away from fire dragon and don't buy a loose barrel, at least get semi fit.

Forget about what You or your friends think is cool and get the A stock threaded Ruger or thread a MKII at least 3"
When you get older and and make more money THEN you can do the stupid stuff. You'll need a lot more useful guns first though.

Wasn't he first arrested for "crimes against nature"?
Maybe they have DNA from the sheep also.
YET some of you will still be interested in their products. Shame! People today have no standards!

Re: Whitehouse.gov petition to remove silencers from the nfa
Paul Revere left his house. These petitions are beyond stupid. Even if the White House was sympathetic to our cause, it would take an act of congress to remove silencers, not an executive order. And the White House is most definitely not sympathetic to our cause. Even if 100k people signed, which t...

Ah too funny that anyone thinks a whitehouse.gov petition is "fighting for your rights" Good old facebook activism, just like the myspace activism before that, and the random scrap of paper stapled to a telephone pole activism before that. And before that Paul Revere and lanterns in steep...
