One of my favorite sayings comes from a South African gentleman I've know for years. He immigrated from SA and is an American (he's blonde and white). "I'm an African-American. It's okay, you can call me a nigger." :P As for mlk & this whole mess, I'd like to think choosing a Chinese s...

Always grilled with charcoal, just like the taste better. Gas grill is convenient but not for me.

For this years' 4th, we're doing charcoal and I fired it up extra fuel because:

What's your budget?

Leica CRF is a good unit. Think they run around $600.

The older LRF 1200/1200 Scan can be had for about $450.

The Swaroski Laserguide is a nice unit, but it runs a tad under $900.

Threading 17HMR barrel for a Blackout FH SPR/M4 Suppressor

I have an AAC SPR/M4 on order w/ my SOT. I just picked up a Sako Quad and will be using it in 17HMR for varmit control on the ranch. I took a caliper to the OD of the barrel and it is approx 0.68". Will it be possible to thread this barrel and mount a Blackout FH so I can mount the SPR/M4 on my...

I'd have to disagree. Gen 1 stuff is not really worth it. Sure it's cheap, but if you expect it to be usable, I'd save up and get at least a MUM. If you can swing it get a PVS14. IPSCGuy on ARFCom builds them and sells them at good prices. He's a stand up guy and very knowledgable. If you need conta...

I have had the HK mags a while and they work. I don't think they work well enough to be worth the extra WEIGHT. I would suggest Brownell's 30 round aluminum magazines. Good prices and functions well. I'm waiting for my PMAGs from Magpul, it sounds like a promising product but under FA may have probl...

So does the rifle length upper work with a 12" barrel? I was under the impression the shortest barrel for rifle length MRP was 14.5" or is it 16"?

Thanks.

uggh! not this again, dont do it and if you do make it limited use listen to lawless101aa.You can use it for 17HMR like Im going to do whenever Mark gets in touch with me about the FH. I've got a SPR/M4 on order and will likely do 17 HMR with it for varmit control/screwing around. Any idea on...

I'm ordering an EVO-9 and wondered if you guys would recommend/have an idea:

It will go on a G17. Is it doable for me to use a G34 barrel and have it threaded? Or do I need to get a 17L barrel?

Appreciate your help!

Impact used to be out of a warehouse in Ogden, it was a small operation (4 rows of shelves + display counters) in an industry park. They have expanded quite a bit and now run an indoor shooting range and a big store front on highway frontage. I think they are understaffed or staffed by people who do...

Now that's a vault! :D

What I find lacking in Browning's offering is it doesn't offer ENOUGH. It would be a nice low-key entrance to your safe room if the safe room was accessable from your library or office. But for a real vault in your basement, you need a beefier, more hefty door(!)

One of the shooters that attended last weekend's suppressor shoot hosted by BookHound had a .17HMR with an M4-2000 mounted as his suppressor. There still was a sonic crack, but the rifle was extremely easy on the ears, and fun to shoot. In addition, he could use the same can on an AR-15, which made...

Glock has had a G18C for a few years that is a bit more "controllable" than the "original" G18. I did a GLOCK instructor class a few years back and the sheriff's dept had extra 9mm ammo . . . so we spent an afternoon playing. Single shots on FULL is practically impossible w...

Many departments have switched to or are switching to suppressors b/c of 2 main reasons:

Flash suppression for HOT raids
Hearing loss
