Re: 5.56mm Form 1 Suppressor Construction Pics
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't nearly all seamless tubing hot pierced and rolled? Generally speaking: Tubing, no. Pipe, yes. People tend to use tubing for a F1 suppressor (not pipe) because tubing is thin wall and made to convenient sizes. Unfortunately, "seamless" tubing is rolled and...

Re: Best Bolt Gun to Suppress for .308
I am a HUGE FN fan +1 here. The Winchester action is way better than the Remington. Won't go bang when you touch the bolt handle. I'm building a rifle this winter. Got my stock just waiting on the heavy barrel that I will use to mount a can on. Way better trigger and the recoil lug is part of the r...

Re: Suppressor questions from a match director
Hello, Is recoil reduced compared to a similar unsuppressed rifle, without a muzzle brake? Is recoil less than a rifle with a muzzle brake? (a lot of different brakes out there, I know) Is a suppressed rifle more accurate than unsuppressed? Thanks for your time, First off, I shoot highpower matches...

Re: Board index » Recommended Dealers » MAJ MALFUNCTION ????
But then again, I've heard a lot of stories of people getting screwed over by their local dealers. But even with a month or two delay, he's still probably faster than your local dealer ordering a silencer from the manufacturer. Total BS. Faster than local dealer ? People still have to go thru a loc...

Re: Tips for single point threading 3al-2.5v titanium?
I'm starting on my .223 suppressor and I want to thread my 0.51" wall thickness 3al-2.5v titanium tube. I'll be thread milling it with a single point solid carbide tool and my maximum spindle speed is 2300RPM. I'm planning on 32TPI. I've never worked with titanium before, any tips for depths o...

Re: Board index » Recommended Dealers » MAJ MALFUNCTION ????
It is also about thinking about someone other than yourself. Fucking cake eating civvies. now THAT,, is the end of the story. Now THAT's down right pathetic. Attitudes like that is why many people no longer support the military, at least around here. Worse than the Vietnam vets and now returning ve...

Re: Board index » Recommended Dealers » MAJ MALFUNCTION ????
I think the real point is..............if something comes up that takes you away from customers an email can be sent to everyone at the same time notifying them. That wasn't done as we can see but, it should have been. It solves lots of heartache in the process. Not everyone is going to be sympathet...

este I sent you a PM with Byron's address so you can send a letter if you want to try that. A google search of his address shows a vacant lot, as in no house or shop. I've read on other forums that he gets worse as time goes by. That's why I always buy from the manufacturer. He should have at least ...

Re: Liberty 9mm Takedown Can
bandit, I can't argue with you. You seem to know a ton more about this stuff that me. Whats the story on the pic of the split can? I've worked with different alloys for the last 25 years. It comes with experience. Some alloys are better suited for different task while others are not. All of them ha...

Alright, you two go outside and fight! I didn't come here for a fight. Life's to short for nonsense. What better place to ask ??'s when the subject is already being talked about. I hope the P-match is over now & we can move on. At least it is for me. I don't want a welded tube on my cans. Clear...

Re: Liberty 9mm Takedown Can
Dave does use grade 5 Titanium if that helps ..No idea what that even means..Or care..easier to just buy a Freedom than building a Form 1 308 can..And no doubt it will sound better.. Here I screwed up a bit.. Grade 9 seamless for the Mystic tube..Grade 5 for Barstock for the cores, endcaps an...

Re: Liberty 9mm Takedown Can
Because true grade grade 5 A213 seamless in 1.5" OD has not been available in the last 5 years. <snip> If grade 5 A213 seamless was being made today, all the top titanium suppliers would know about it. What? That's not true at all. There is quite a bit of grade5 tube around, the issue is it's ...

Re: Liberty 9mm Takedown Can
I suspect that guys are really using grade 9 CWSR titanium tubing instead but, we'll see. I will bet money they are. Grade 9 CWSR is available in seamless for a fraction of the price of grade 5. Mechanical properties are very good. Grade 9 has 105KSI vs. grade 5 with 120KSI. AAC uses grade 9 tubing...
