Re: Suppressing 40
I use an Osprey 40 (discontinued - the 9 and 45 are it now) on my HK USP40 and .40 P2000SK. It's surprisingly quiet and the secondary recoil spring on both pistol designs reduces felt recoil significantly. I have an old YHM Cobra 40 that is quite loud in comparison (It was my first can). The Osprey ...

Dead Air Wolf-9SD Body Wrench design
I recently designed a Dead Air Wolf-9SD body wrench. This design engages the recesses on both the serial-numbered rear and the front sections, so now I can apply more torque to my Wolf-9SD suppressor from the front than just by hand. https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/fr/cp0/e15/q65/2675...

Correct, but the polymer wrench won't damage the mount's finish.Joshua@CapitolArmory wrote:You can use an AR armorer's wrench for the Wolf (and Ghost). Pretend it's a castle nut and you're good to go.

Omega 9K/45K/Octane Mount Wrench (And for Dead Air Wolf 9SD too!)
The Problem: The Silencerco Octane/Omega 9K piston and fixed mounts are not compatible with conventional tools and cannot be adequately tightened or loosened by hand. In the case of the 13.5mmX1LH fixed and piston mounts, the barrel thread is left-handed and the suppressor body attaches to the mount...

Re: Group buy: new SilencerCo low profile 3-lug mount
I found it to be very loud on the Omega 9K because it displaces blast chamber volume. I sold mine. I have heard that the longer Gen 1 version does not have this problem.

Omega 9K Direct Thread Mount Considerations
My Omega 9K will be in jail for the next couple of months (went Pending April 19th) and I have the 13.5mmX1LH direct thread mount for my MPX's 4.5" chopped and rethreaded barrel. I got to test drive it and it's really great. I'm curious what I should use to keep the can from unthreading from th...

Can you recore an old Cobra 40 so it isn't so loud? Can a recore involve a different baffle design?Bendersquint wrote:Some need recores, but most don't. Recoring is an entirely different offering.

Re: noob question about pistons from silencerco
The 14.5mmX1LH piston is for HK .40S&W pistols like the USP40 Tactical. I have one of those and a threaded barrel for my P2000SK.
Not sure about the two 1/2"X28 pistons if they are the same length. I figure one should be longer than the other.

Re: MPX suppressor
OK, so what you are saying is that it would be better to use a piston and fixed barrel spacer on the Omega 9k with the MPX with a 4.5" barrel since it's a pistol cartridge?

Re: MPX suppressor
Omega 9K meters almost the same on a MPX as the Obsidian in long. It blows the Obsidian in short out of the water. Do you have any decibel data on using an Omega 9K on an MPX with a 13.5X1LH piston vs the 13.5X1LH direct thread mount? I suspect the direct thread mount provides more expansion volume...

Regarding anything that anyone at Sig has said about releasing MPX anything, I won't hold my breath.

I have not shot it yet. I hope to soon, as my buddy at the gun shop said he would bring it to a range for me to try. Re: The omega 9k
My Omega 9K arrived at my local dealer a few weeks ago, so I took my MPX SBR (4.5" barrel) into the shop take pictures with it mounted. The whole package is ridiculously and beautifully short. The results: Omega 9K length compared to my old YHM Cobra 40 suppressor, which the Omega 9K is replaci...
