Re: Pictures of Sectioned and X-rayed Silencers
The first image noted as B&T Impuls 2A is actually a Impuls made by CCF. Same can just licensed to be made in the US. I believe after a bit or research and a few xrays that #4 on the large xray is actually a KAC MP5SD can. Have to pull up my xrays again to verify though but it is definitly not ...

You know there is already a thread with all these in it and more right? Its the baffle pictures thread. Guessing you missed it, although its not strictly limited to xrays and cutaways... Bender I do know about the Baffle Picture thread, but wanted to keep this to Sectioned and X-rayed models as the...

Re: Pictures of Sectioned and X-rayed Silencers
Thank you Gunny. There are a few I have not seen pictures of including the faux pistol suppressor.I love to see the WW2 German suppressors, some are very complex.Have you ever used any of them that were ahead of there time. With subsonic ammo it sure looks like some models were probably very quiet. -C...

Pictures of Sectioned and X-rayed Silencers - Update Gemtech - RSA - F1
Gents, There are so many questions here that could be anwsered for at leas 75% if one would do a good read on completed builds and looking at what is available online. So here it goes, I wanted to start this with Sectioned / cut silencers. X-rayed will follow and I will keep updating this post as I ...

Re: Pressure @ muzzle in different barrel lengths
I will do some calcs on .338LM later ... and adjust them to the pressure levels we see on a friends TRG42 which has a Pressure Trace setup on it. With the very slow powders used for .338LM the Muzzle pressures in short bbl's for this calibre will be very high, no doubt about that.. The same goes fo...

Re: Pressure @ muzzle in different barrel lengths
From QL: .308W 220 grn Sub load using 13 grains of Trail Boss (MV in my 20" = 299 m/s avg) Muzzle pressure calculated in QL: 135 Bar = 1958 psi These numbers were checked and QL "adjusted" to fit with my measurements from my "Pressure Trace" setup on my .308W Keep in mind t...

Re: My hybrid SDTA design.
My thought was that even w venting, there would still be substantial pressure for the last 4"s. However, venting prior to exit would force premature "uncorking" and lower precursor wave + initial blast. The slits would also function more efficiently since the bullet would help force ...

Re: Suppressing 7" 5.56mm ?
Anybody suppress a 7" barrel AR in 5.56mm? Somebody posed this question to me not long ago. They have an AR SBR at 7", and wanted to know if the suppressor they had could be put on it. They contacted the manufacturer, and were told it would not be warranted for barrels under 12", but...

Titanium G-Core silencers
Gents, There are several Manufacturers that make a MONOCORE silencer. Not all are take apart not all are all Ti. some use Inconell Blast baffle / Chambers etc etc. Getting the right Ti Tube over here is a big problem. Most manufacturers use different designs for different caliber groups. Gemtech cam...

Re: Design guidelines for an integral rifle silencer?
To Morgan, start with the following idea for integral rifle. Short barrel with muzzle brake to fill your rear chamber, or machine a gas diversion tube on your brake to make sure your gas starts all the way back in your silencer. Do some reading here http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t...

Re: Design guidelines for an integral rifle silencer?
I've considered just buying an octane.... I like the shorter integral and I figured it would be quieter... If the space behind the muzzle does nothing why would anybody buy such a rifle? Volume alone adds suppression so that area dose far form nothing.Done right a integral is normally quieter than ...

Saw it the first time before you edited the link away. Here you go: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e356/mcrump29732/IMG_0074.jpg I do guess that the K with the long neck is your blast baffle, if so port the neck with drilled holes so gas will lead of into the space beween neck and wall.
