Re: A pre-treating method to reduce .22 suppressor baffle cleaning time seems to have been found.
Interesting. What, if any, are the concerns about inhaling vaporized brake fluid? I doubt that there is any vaporization. Silicon brake fluid has a minimum boiling point of 500 degrees and the method described in the article involves heating the parts to only 250 degrees. As soon as you pull the tr...

Re: Silencer Purchasing Process (concerns)
Once a properly filled out Form 4 with a Trust is submitted it takes about 4 weeks for the ATF to put it in the system. Once in the system, your Form 4 goes PENDING; my last Trust Form 4 to be approved (last week in fact) went from PENDING TO APPROVED in EXACTLY 90 days. Is there some way to find o...

Any thoughts as to whether DOT 5 brake fluid (his source for silicon oil) is safe for the various metals (stainless, aluminum, titanium) that are likely to be found in rimfire and handgun suppressors? Not being a chemist, I'd hate to find out that it eats aluminum.

Re: Specwar vs. Saker
Thanks. I went to Silencer Shop (in person) and talked with them about the options. Ordered the Saker 762 w/MAAD mount for the Specwar.
And now the wait begins.

Specwar vs. Saker
I posted this last night in the general Silencer Talk forum, but thought I might get more input in this forum, since it is specific to SilencerCo. --- original post from Silencer Talk forum ------ I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't spot it in a quick review of a couple of the foru...

Re: Specwar vs. Saker
Thanks to both of you for your replies. It sounds like I I wanted the maximum suppression in a .308, I should go with the Specwar 7.62, and maximum suppression in 5.56 would be a Saker 7.62 with the 5.56 end cap. That sounds great, in that it would allow me to have either two .30 cal rifles or two 5...

Specwar vs. Saker
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't spot it in a quick review of a couple of the forums, so here I go with my newbie questions. I am looking for my first suppressors, and am trying to decide between the Specwar and the Saker (not the Saker K). I was originally thinking that I would...
