I use my Spectre II on a 17 HMR and it sounds pretty good.

Nice setup! 175 grain bullets seem to be the ticket with long range 308, in my experience.

Re: Favorite direct thread 30 cal
For strictly a direct thread only can on a bolt gun, i've heard great things about the AAC 300-TM. I really enjoy how quiet my 300TM is. I experienced considerable POI shift on one rifle and very little on another. If I had to do it over again I think I'd go with the Omega; it is shorter, significa...

Re: Need help for next 7.62/5.56 suppressor.
Well whatever you read about that is pure hogwash. The Omega is the most versatile can out there. Its durable, full auto & magnum rated. It comes with an ASR mount and direct thread mount. Other thread pitches are available. Its light, its short, & its built by an excellent company that has ...

Why not stay with the same mounts that you already have and get the Omega?

Save a little longer for the Omega. Other than price it sounds like it meets your needs quite well.

I like my 300TM, but I bought it before the Omega came out. I would go with the Omega hands down if I were to do it all over again.

I went with the HD, it works fine for my uses. I wouldn't worry about 3 ounces, but if I needed a shorter option the K would be good. I'd like to get a Nano 9 option though.

The 9mm SBR AR with an Octane on it gets the most attention from my friends, my AC556 is a close second.

I love my Spectre II. No FRP and very quiet. All I really know about the Element is that it will be harder to clean, if you're into that sort of thing. SCo has much better customer service.

I have a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor that has been pretty accurate and has an above average trigger. I've been pretty pleased with it running my AAC 300TM.

Yes, I got a flash hider too... for the AR-10 I'm soon to build. Someday... Jeff Jeff, if you do build it, please share the build info. I'm currently looking at the DPMS AP4 in 308, but would rather build one. I just don't have much knowledge in building ARs. Thanks.[/quote] You'll love the AR10, I...

Omega
I think it would be silly to restrict yourself to a bore diameter when you gain nothing in suppression and if you're shooting a semi auto increase your chances that you will have feeding and back pressure problems.

Re: Personal Experiences on your 9mm AR SBR
Mine isn't a real AR, its one of the Just Right Carbines. I've had my SBR F1 stamp approved for a while now and this thread reminded me of it so I called my gunsmith to schedule a time to chop the barrel down to 5" and thread it 1/2x28. The JRC is a decent enough gun and runs fine in it the cur...

I like the front hex nut idea. Take a look at the SilencerCo Omega, it is quite a bit more versatile for about the same dough.

I think it'll be on the tight side but should work. You'll have about a half inch between the end of the handguard and the back of the can.

8" should be fine, you're going to have .4" of threads. You are going to want a little room to turn the locking ring on the Specwar.
