Re: 338 whisper brass from 7.62x39
Point 1 - If I had 7mm br brass I would use it. 2 - In 300 blk I have not observed any difference in speed, poi, or acc. with shorter brass ( but I am NOT a BR shooter ), 3 - For years I have been using spp in the 300 with very good results. 4 - Looks like it would work, but like stated above there ...

Re: Mouse fart.38 Spl. loads?
To my ear when I am shooting - Trail Boss sounds the quietest in 38's with a 190 gr cast. I use 110 or 296 for rifle loads. But that is just my ears and not metered.

My wife has been carrying one for 31 years and had to pull it out only once. We found out later it probably saved her life. It has over a million miles on it by now ( and 3 dogs that wanted to see if she was as mean as she looked ).

Re: Ammo Availability
Year and a half before everything returns to normal. Stores with product on the shelves. Backorders are booked to the end of the year. Unless some deranged person or some political nut ( elected officials ) does something really stupid, ie.. huge tax on ammo, guns, transfers, or God forbid - a mass ...

Re: pistol load shotgun inserts
I have six - 22 through 45 - and they reduce the sound signature very little. The 10" 22 with 780 fps shells are very quiet. The 10" 9mm insert with sub loads is not hearing safe. Shy away from the aluminum inserts. The lands and grooves do not stay very long. The others are quite accurate...

One of the top four expanding sub bullets made in 300 blk.. Should be good in larger caliber also. All are expensive but are murder on deer.

Re: Is the .458 winchester magnum a suitable host?
Sounds like Trail Boss should work in the 458 wm. (Hope this doesn't sound like trying to hijack ) I am not an engineer but this is something I have been wondering about. Say you take a 45 suppressor and shoot a 230 ball at 17,000 psi and then shot a 458 Cau with Trail Boss over a 300 gr or a 458 50...

Re: AR Pistol Using Carbine Buffer Tube? What Do I Need to D
See your point. If it has ever been on a gun before is it considered a rifle tube? If all you had was a fixed stock tube and removed the rail - would this also work? I can find no concrete definition of a pistol tube length or shape anywhere.

Look at Thureon Defense. I like them better than the JR. Have got a few hundred rounds through a 9mm and 45. Had some feeding problems with the 45 but a Glock mag took care of that. Fun to shoot.
