Re: Suppressing a shorty 308?
seen SCAR's in country with short barrels running the SDN-6, ran well but had Concussion like you wouldn't believe. we took a vote and wouldn't let him shoot from inside the vehicle. much worse than a Benelli M-4 shotgun (only other weapon system in the rear of the vehicle) I know he broke the wind...

Re: Suppressing a shorty 308?
The pressure at that muzzle is nuts.
FWIW, that's one of the setups that the 762-SDN-6 was designed for. In particular, a 12.5" HK417.
That's what I'd choose for that application.

Sucks, but thanks.
None of the MINI7 prototypes I shot sounded very good.

Re: New customer service at AAC
In all seriousness, I know Nick and he's a great guy. Knows his stuff and is a very active shooter. He's a positive addition to AAC and hopefully he can provide some of the direct contact here in the forum that has been lacking for years. He doesn't have hair as luxurious as Mers, or Brent's manly b...

Re: anyone know if Alan Paulson is still planning on vol 3?
I'd love to see a Vol 3. I think breaking down the progression of modern silencers would be invaluable regardless of how obsolete it may become due to the internet. The GWOT has brought a lot to the history of military silencers and I'd personally love to see it cataloged. Agreed, both the civilian...

I'm going to say he doesn't work there anymore.
It sucks and the circumstances are not 100% clear, and I wish him all the best. I've always thought the world of Mike.

Yes they do make that mount. Re: Ranger 3
I'm interested in the Ranger3 as well. Is it possible to order one that's already bored out to a larger caliber? I need a short light thread on can for 6.5 Grendel that doesn't suck or spark. :D They definitely won't do a custom bored one. actually, they haven't even shipped the regular ones, too b...

Re: 762-SD versus 762-SDN-6 ... which is quieter?
it's my understanding there are differences in the baffle stack to make the SD cheaper to produce than the SDN6. For one, I seem to remember Jason say that the SD core is not fully welded. I wouldn't be surprised if the bigger can is quieter, but if it has different baffles as well... well then it'...

They're probably all packing up or looking for work. I'm no AAC fan boy but the XM2010 contract is still in place . . . they have to deliver Titans with the rifles or Big Green is going to have some explaining to do. End the panic. AAC is not going away. Sucks for guys that don't want to make the m...

there's not really hard and fast rules… in general the more powder that burns, the quitter it will be. BUT, it depends on the can quite a bit- some cans perform better with higher pressure (shorter barrel) and others with lower pressure (longer barrel). You'll have to test in combo with particular ...

What I am asking for is not different requirements, which seems to be what you and Robert posted, but about "innovation" - the act or process of introducing new ideas, devices, or methods. I do not see any new ideas, devices, or methods, on any military can that the commercial market did ...

Ditch the external thread mount, and it looks a lot like the one sitting in my safe. If you want to nit-prick things, the Cyclone tube is smooth, and it has flutes at the rear for grip. I didn't say it looked exactly like it, just a lot like it. it looks as much like a cyclone as any other can i gu...
