New Hi Standard
Picked this one up a few months ago to build a sort of integral on. Its really a screw on but its configure like an integral with the sight on the tube. Finished up rust bluing the silencer today . Turned out good. 3" barrel, quiet bore K baffles, 7 3/4" 4340 tube and ends. https://imagize...

Quiet bores 30 call kit is 304 SS . . You can build one out of aluminum . If it is using fully skirted steel cones it will hold up fine.

This is a Hawk IT hybrid titanium tube with Two stainless 60 degree cones and 6 Ti radial cones. All single clipped. Ti end cap with ASR back cap. I shoot the crap out of it too.

I have an 8" D cell can I built with a Ti tube and end caps and clipped stainless steel skirted 60 degree cones . The first two heat treated. I shoot it all the time with a 7 1/2" barrel AR. Probably put a thousand rounds through it. Its as quiet and any .223 can Ive ever used. The manufac...

You can file for the whole year no problem. Also once in state you can go anywhere with it. As noted its not needed for the silencer but it is for the SBR.

Yep. When you are the only one who disagrees and you cant bring up real world examples of where it was ACTUALLY an issue its hard to take what you believe seriously. Its not actually a problem. Belief systems are hard nuts to crack. Been .223 shooting through laser engraved titanium cans for years. T...

Re: Volume vs performance
I have several giganitc cans. While there is a point of diminishing returns with silencers regarding size there is a still a return. My big cans are quieter than my small cans. If a design works good short and you use the same baffles in it and make it longer it will work even better long . Theres s...

I've used tarheestatefirearms for many of my engravings. While I don't pretend to know whether they use argon for shielding or not, I can honestly say all of the engravings they have done on Titanium has been just fine going back at least 6 years now. But, what-ev's. SHE doesnt use argon. No one do...

Re: Serial number on silencer
Do they argon shield when engraving titanium ? Why ? So you can have shiny letters? Probably not. Nothing to do with aesthetics. That “non-shiney “ engraving on your titanium can is a brittle phase (alpha case) that substantially reduces fatigue strength. Suggest you take a few minutes to become be...

Re: Building a multi caliber form 1 suppressor
What you are talking about is building a 45 silencer and using it on other stuff to. Just build a 45 silencer with .578 threads and buy a thread adapter and use a reduced size end cap sleeve. Then you can use different ends on it. Big silencer companies do it. You can too. No one is going to prosecu...

Commercial cans? I dont think you'll have much luck. You can build yourself a couple of C sized tube cans with stainless baffles for pretty cheap.

If it's made from one of those solvent trap cups, I don't think most of those are very effective in the first place. Surely you can't be serious John. Ive got 15 cans and I made 10 of them myself out of solvent traps. Almost all of them are as effective as anything I purchased on a form 4. No magic...

Re: 9mm Suppressor (no tools)
If you are just doing one can on a form have someone else machine or baffles for you. Perfectly legal and a good financial decision. If you want to be the DIY guy then do that. It'll cost a few grand for a light duty lathe and a mill but it will be worth it in the long run. Now I personally can vouc...

You can notify them if you feel like it . They certainly won't stop you. It does make things smoother if you go to sell something but there is still no legal requirement to notify them of the permanent move of a silencer interstate or intrastate. Ive sold something too and it became a hassle when th...

Re: Moving with a Form 1 suppressor
The "requirement" to notify the ATF of a permanent move of a silencer move is not backed by statute. Interstate moves of MG's DD's , SBS's etc different story. There is a black letter law backing that up. Silencers? Nope.

You dont have to do anything. You can notify them on a 5320.20 if you feel like it but its not required by law.

I dont know theres a lot of science behind a screen packed suppressor. Just a perforated tube wrapped with screen. as the bullet goes down the tube the gasses get pushed out into the screen and cool and are trapped by the screen. The screen burnes up fairly quickly and it is a maintenance item to ch...
