With quality defense ammo and good shot placement, I doubt you notice much difference between 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. However, practice will be cheaper with 9mm. +1 on all that 9mm is fine for stopping someone if ur going to worry about which pistol caliber is more potent or whatever why not ...
