Re: Aluminum for .223 Can
I was thinking a 300 black/308 can addin one or two baffles (just copy the others) and a little longer. I can order an aircraft drill and get aboit 11" on the lathe with careful slow going. But omegas are known quiet.....

Do you think this will be quieter then a similar sized omega baffled can?
My problem is getting a bore drilled. How does every one else do it?

Hi, I’m not going to enter into the SS vs. “Alien” battle once more. Can you afford MonoCores ?, 3-Axis CNC Mill by chance ? If so, I’m willing to Post a new design (brand new, just few days old …) for you. Mixes Alu-6061/T6 (Core and Caps) and SS-304L (Tube from OnlineMetals.com), 1.5x7. Best, Pau...

Do you have a harbor freight near you? I was in there today for some cheap tools and saw a 3" rotary table for under $50, throw in one of the 35% off coupons.... It felt reasonably tight.

Re: educate me on stepped baffles
I have a cnc mill so precision is not an issue. I worry about the 90 degree shoulders being stress risers. Cant wait for more info.

Re: Tube threading
I find i have better results with the tool just above center. First with the stock trued, the lathe off, set the compound at 3 0or 29.5degrees. Next take the fish and lay it length wise against the stock. Run the tool up into the notch on the side of the fish. Adjust the tool until it is a perfect m...

educate me on stepped baffles
So I gather that stepped baffles are most effective with centerfire rounds. The 60 degree outside cone can be stepped and the inside can be stepped. Is there a compelling reason to do this? Is it significantly more effective then smooth cones? Is there a rule of thumb for the number or size of steps...

Re: New 300 AAC Blackout rifle and can build
And which is the orientation you used. How is it on 7.62x51? Is the m baffle a squared up hole on the inside? You have done what i am wanting to do as soon as i have my stamps. More pics of the baffles if you have them. Why did you weld instead of thread?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: Reflex design and ar15 pistol (9mm, 45 acp) questions
Thats why i posted. To be shown the error of my ways. I have a 4 axis cnc mill and manual lathes. What baffles sjould i be looking at? I like the 2point attachement of the reflex as well as the compact length. Point me in the right direction.

Re: Reflex design and ar15 pistol (9mm, 45 acp) questions
Sorry, I dont know how to fix that.
Try, "How I make my suppressor baffles"
Ignore the thinner, weaker material for the baffle.

Re: Reflex design and ar15 pistol (9mm, 45 acp) questions
I can mig 4130 at home. My shop wont let me weld or tig the can there. (Why ask why). I have all the equipment at home except supplies/ equipment to do the alum or stainless welding. I was going with baffles similar to these. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US&rdm=4on23h15u&...

Re: Reflex design and ar15 pistol (9mm, 45 acp) questions
@B I was thinking of 4-6 inches of reflex. And 3-4 inches of pressed baffles. The outer tube .063" 4130, 1.75" od ( so it would fit under free float handguard) with a .75" inner sheath over bbl. For the pressed baffles i was thinking .090" 4130 i can make the deep press dies easi...

Reflex design and ar15 pistol (9mm, 45 acp) questions
Is there a reason to not go with a reflex design (ala T8) on an ar pistol caliber build? I am beginning to plan my ar pistol builds (9mm, 45 acp) and want to have an idea of the direction I will go to form 1 a couple cans. Does the large volume behind the muzzle increase FRP? Is the reflex design su...

trust and form 1
NC will be clarifying its position on trusts and NFA on Dec 1. Once this is made explicitly legal, I will go the legal zoom route ( unless there is another idea). Once the living trust is set up can I apply and build a suppressor under the trust?

blackout barrel extension?
My first post here. I am no stranger to machining or building firearms. But this is my first sortie into
a blackout. Should I use a m4 barrel extension for the blackout?? I tried the search but had no luck
