That is because they test them at 40 kph and they are factoring in drag. At 30 kph I bet 26/26 is fastest.

I think there are properties besides watts to look at. One is watts after 100 miles. Maybe an oil that is 0.5 watts better at 0 miles is 6 watts worth than another at 100 miles. After all that searching around and not wanting to order those tires from Specialized and wait, a saw them on the shelf at a bike store about 9 miles away for $55 each plus tax.

They also had GP4000SII but were overpriced at $70 each + tax.

They came to just $123 delivered (via DHL) for two tires and have 402 carbide spikes per tire.

My concern now is reports of a lot of lost spikes.

Maybe find a trusted local FFL/SOT who you wife can have sell them, take a commission, and hand over the extra money.
