If I were in law enforcement, which I'm not, I would try to set up an 'internet crime watch'. With all the people who clearly incriminate themselves on UTube and other sights (posting homemade felonies, filming fights and asaults and on and on) not to mention all the stolen goods being posted on cra...

Pumps and leaver actions are good guns. They have quick followup shots and you can keep your eye on the sight picture, particularly with a pump. I imagine you could manage an integral can that went with a tube magazine. May be more practical with some makes than others, but I'm sure it could be done...

7.62x25 for suppression?
I have a basket case Mosin Nagant rifle that I have been thinking about converting to 7.62x25. Have any of you played with subsonic loads for the 30 Tokarov? It seems like it should be a natural and there is some mention of 7.62x25 based silencer rounds in "Cartridges of the World," but I ...

I had a Henry AR7 that I bought with the idea of making an integral suppressor. The gun didn't work well at all. I sold the gun and have been looking for a Marlin Papoose to see if they work any better. I don't know anyone who actually owns one so I haven't got a first hand report on their reliabili...

Real Maxim cans are few and far between. So few people were willing to pay $200 to register a $15 item, most of them have just dissapeared. I keep my eyes open though. You never know when or where you may find a treasure trove of amnesty registered goodies in some closet or basement. People really d...

Good picks. The Glock 23 is an excellent carry gun. BTW, there is a guy on gunbroker with some factory reconditioned Glocks. He had a couple of G19 until I bought one, now he has one 19 and some 17s and I think a 22. I went $400 for the 19 on a 'buy it now'. Just thought I'd mention it since there s...

Congradulations on getting the permit. By all means, don't carry a .22. Get at least a .380. I carry a Kel Tec p-11 in 9mm. About the same size as most .380s, weighs verry little and costs about $225. They now have a single stack 9mm that holds I think 7 shots and is verry slim and easy to carry. Th...

st33vo, if you already have an SKS, why not stick with the 7.62. It is nice to have multiple guns in one cartrige IMO. Just more economical and efficient when it comes to buying bulk ammo. This is what's kept me from buying a 5.45, having other guns in 7.62. Just don't want to start buying another r...

Maybe start the project by experimenting with the loads and see how the gun likes them. If you don't load shotshells you can pick up a simple press cheap enough. May save you a ton of agrivation and money down the line. Once you know how well the 11-87 handles different loadings you may have a bette...

If you want to go with a pump action like in No Country For Old Men, you will definitely need to load your own for subsonics. If you are willing to start with a single shot or maybe a bolt action, you may be able to port the barrel enough to lower the velocity. If you go with the pump action working...

I'll second the Reising given the choise between the two guns in question. Reisings were US military guns. As a collectable that matters. As a shooter they have way better parts, mags, and ammo availability and cost. They do have their issues but people have been shooting them for generations and th...

I know it's not a WWII gun, but if you want a good shooter for short money don't overlook the SKS. I have always thought of them as an under respected rifle. Skip the bubba tacticool dress up crap. keep the original ten round fixed magazine. Cave man simple and reliable. No where near the gun that t...

Could this really be the way our nation is ruled? The use of violence as an instrument of power is nothing new, but this? This rings of the Dealy plaza death list. There is a case that makes stastisticians wear their pencils dull. LBJ had a convicted murderer (Mac Wallace) working for him for years....

Lets talk about .308 silencers.....
I'm itching for a rifle silencer and I have some questions. First, if I want to shoot subsonic .308, will a 'standard' twist rifle barrel stabilize them, or will I need to start with a special barrel? If so, will I be able to shoot full power loads or would I have something that only handles one loa...

I have a similar gun, the Stemple 76-45. A cruder version of the design in 45acp, full auto only. I have a Burgess suppressor for it. Like the others described, it's an integral. Very quiet for what it is. I know he had 9mm suppressors for them on his page last I knew, but now I can't find his page ...
