Re: Why do I need high capacity clips and so much ammo?
The correct answer is, "What part of the Constitution says a person has to justify any natural right?"

Re: NRA membership? Poll
One thing to keep in mind. Member dues only support training, education, shooting sports activities and the cost of the magazine. The NRA-ILA acts as a separate organization and performs lobbying and political activities. So if you want to donate towards politics, donate to the NRA-ILA too. Excelle...

I'm surprised more states don't do this (right or wrong). I was always a little surprised that my carry license lasted longer than my driver's license.

A woman at the gym told me that I was lucky because I was lean, and that she wished that she could be lean. Here is what I did this last week to be lucky: I ran 70.4 miles. I took over 151,000 steps. I climbed the equivalent of 461 flights of stairs. I lifted weights for about five hours, which as ...

Re: Can we register this forum with TapaTalk ?
I second that. We have it running on some of the forums I own (also phpBB) and it's a painless and transparent install, and it has been very popular. I would recommend that you update the software slowly, though... about 90% of the time when they announce an update, there is a point-release bug fix ...

Re: Joe Biden Gun Ban Bill By the End of January Edition
There is a great comment on this article. Well, the first sentence is not so great, but the rest is spot-on: We are going to lose in the end. Where are the billboards putting faces to DGU people? The 60 year old grandma who fended off a burglar, the old guy in the Internet cafe? Where are the billbo...

Re: Tax Guns?
The other day I was imagining public schools where all the teachers have a gun strapped to their hip. Openly, just like cops. Imagine if kids grew up and that was a normal, every day thing to them. "They" will never let it happen, of course, but the societal change would be enormous and am...

It's voluntary barter, and not minted federal currency, or in any way a representation of. I had my lawyer work on it before I even thought about it. You can research the NORFED case for an example of creating an alternative & illegal form of "legal tender". We're not talking "li...

Re: Swiss Firm Introduces Divisible Gold Card: SHTF
I've experimented using gold coins complemented with paper currency in moderate transactions at ma & pop shops. I couldn't believe how many people on the east coast frown at it with ignorance, with remarks like, "that's not worth anything to me". It wasn't until I hit Omaha that the r...

Re: Think EMP attack would only cut power?
I meant they're sensationalizing it by making reference to radar systems futzing with control systems and so on. Sure, it's EM interference, but the nature of an EMP, whether offensive or solar, is orders of magnitude more powerful. It doesn't just cause quirky behavior, it destroys those systems. W...

Re: Fracking flick channels science fiction
I love the point dublooon, but fracking was first used in the late 1800s, for whatever it's worth. One of those oil & gas museums that I used to visit out there in the Midland-Odessa area (had a lot of friends out that way) had a whole section devoted to it -- long before it was in the news (thi...

Re: NRA Life membership specials
Since the only important benefit to a life membership is to help fund the NRA's lobbying efforts, trying to get one on the cheap sort of defeats the purpose. Just kick them $300, and then you can make payments indefinitely towards the full-boat membership. There is no mandatory monthly payment (alth...

Re: Think EMP attack would only cut power?
For a nuclear power plant, coolant circulation is the problem. I used to follow DOE and NRC stuff since I was pretty interested in Hyperion power modules, until the DOE basically killed off the concept by burying it in a pathetic morass of overregulation that made the costs untenable. I recall that ...

Re: Think EMP attack would only cut power?
I think they're sensationalizing it a bit (WND is infamous for that), but I've seen radar do weird things. My favorite is from about 20 years back. A friend of mine installed various types of security systems and related hardware. For about a month he was going crazy over a remote gate-opener that w...

Re: Armored Car Sales Rise in Mexico
Too bad Mexico's import laws are so restrictive, or I'd be cleaning up on this! (Even though it isn't a primary line of business, we have good connections for armored vehicles, but nearly everything we deal with is for clients in various parts of Africa.)
