Re: .308, 18" barel uncorking pressure,
Your numbers are a bit off, but not terribly. Barrel length needs to have the "chamber" subtracted. Use cartridge overall length, minus bullet length, and subtract this from barrel length. Use that as bore volume. Use QL's "Useable Case Capacity" as your constant for pMax (62kpsi...

Re: Advice plz: 5.56 end cap hole size, engraving location
A Chinese, Aluminum, monocore is a horrible choice, horrible. Regardless of your first go'round, don't do it. Exit bore relies on design, but stay >.080in over caliber. You can engrave whatever you want. Some do endcap, some the mount, most do the tube. Placement on tube near midle or closer to moun...

Re: Welding endcaps
You don't usually bevel thin walled tube, it's just butt welded. But, stick welding w/ an oversized rod, a bevel on both pieces (#3) should do. You can turn afterwards, to remove the buildup.

Re: What Is Maximum PSI In .22 Rimfire Can?
As Ecco pointed out, the volume of the system (chamber, barrel, suppressor) is exponentially greater than the chamber itself. Suppressors aren't sealed vessels and don't warrant the same engineering/design.

Re: Form 1 Maker when is it officially made?
Well, sort of. Technically, it's a silencer as soon as you bore the end cap and assemble that onto the tube. But that doesn't mean it's illegal for the F1 maker to manufacture the rest of the parts. Exactly, a tube with a bored cap would meet the definition. I didn't say it would be illegal to make...

If we bring our guns out, not to shoot looters, not to kill cops, but as a show of force in the defense of liberty, if we behave as strong, free, dignified men, gently and empathetically but with terrible power held in check by our own calm, the conversation will be FORCED to shift to something mor...

Re: Form 1 Maker when is it officially made?
I had a long reply for you, all typed out, and the site ate it. You get the amended version. What you're asking/thinking about would be illegal. It's a silencer when it meets the definition, not when you say so. A Form1 maker can legally repair their own silencer/property, regardless of original mak...

While you can, you need to be careful not to damage the tube wall. A close fitting mandrel should be used.

Re: Form 1 design for an FN1900 in .32 ACP
1.25x6 should be plenty
No need for any o-rings
I prefer not to space baffles near projectile diameter.
See how many cones you can get in a 6" tube @ ~.375in

Re: Form 1 design for an FN1900 in .32 ACP
A lot of your design features are ancient. Drop the perforated blast baffle. A single port is all that's needed. Ditch the mousehole (the cut at the cone's base). As said, blast spacer is huge. I'd probably put the first baffle 1/4" from muzzle. Personally, 'd just fill the volume with cones, b...

Re: tons of junk coming from suppressor into pistol action
The spring in your gun, not the booster. The booster spring works in conjunction w/ the suppressor weight. The pistol's recoil spring will delay the action's unlock time.
I was interested in pics for, above all things, an idea of baffle geometry and their direct impact w/ back pressure.

Some here might know the answer, but form1suppressor.boards.net is really tailored for the solvent trap builder.
What I do know, however, is that you should avoid Muted Machine.

This thread seemed to turn into a conspiracy theory, real quick. Just to clear things up: No one said there was a legal reqt. No one said Feds were showing up at your house. No one said a 5320.20 was req'd. And, yes, I have had authorities show up to my residence (at 9pm) because their records weren...

I've had several instances where not keeping the registry up to date made a headache for me and took a bit of time to resolve. Simply sending a notification letter isn't difficult.

Re: 50BMG update thread
Your design doesn't require a blast spacer, correct?
Regardless, I highly doubt you'll fire enough rounds through this suppressor to do detrimental damage to 1/8" thk steel. Especially since it's not seeing a direct blast front.

Re: 50BMG update thread
IMHO, you've just negated the brake porting. The brake would have diffused the blast much better than those slits. What you've done is refocused the blast stream. If you were worried about gas eroding the tube interior, this would be more detrimental than the open brake. Get rid of that shield entir...

Re: Order of operations for End cap help?
I'm making everything. But I don't have thread wires Do have a machinist handbook? Check what wire goes to the thread pitch and go to a music shop and buy piano wire in that size. Honestly, you should have a set of wires. They're dirt cheap and very useful. I'd make the tube first, threading both e...

Re: Order of operations for End cap help?
Are you making the tube or buying? If making, I'd do it like this: (making end cap mount first) Part will be made as if chuck was tube (you'll be able to stick QD device into part properly) Profile and thread OD (using wires to confirm thread sizing) Bore interior to female thread Dmin Cut taper (as...

The binary trigger is pretty irrelevant, as it's just a bit under FA rated. And, it's still just 22lr.

Yes, sorry. ID was intended, instead of OD.
Still, pretty small. What's the overlap, of the 2 tubes?
You don't typically fill a 50BMG suppressor w/ baffles. Plug welding will eliminate need for spacers, saving weight.
