No reason to go so large, with plug hole. Do 6 or 8 1/8" plugs. Larger holes = more heat.
1.81 OD is EXTREMELY small for 50BMG.

Good job. If you don't mind, post some pics of the internals, w/ a couple details and we can get it added to the completed builds thread

Re: Anyone have copy of delisle blueprints/
John, I've made gauges from Saami prints. Take your time and cur them a hair larger. Grind and polish to size. As for blueprints and patents, the two aren't interchangeable. Just because a feature is shown in a specific way, in a patent, doesn't mean it was made like this or even included. They're j...

Re: Anyone have copy of delisle blueprints/
John, I forgot to tell you, in our other conversation, about a guy on Arfcom building a DeLisle. He posted maybe a month ago and asked the same question. Not shortly after, he had posted a pic of some prints he received. Can't remember if it was in the Silencer DIY or Gunsmithing section. If you don...

Re: Form-1 50 BMG suppressor
My weight number comes from building several 50BMG and other large bore cans, of the like. This is from the amount of material required for the build, nothing more. You can't just throw a number out there that would equal a muzzle brake. Considering the same brake, there will be different recoil imp...

Re: Form-1 50 BMG suppressor
Yes, you need to lose a LOT of weight. There's no reason a 50BMG suppressor should weigh more than 4lbs. There's minimal recoil reduction to be had by just the silencer's mass. If you can lose >1/2lb, from the first baffle alone, you've most likely made everything unnecessarily thick. I understand s...

Re: Transformer / Optimus type suppressor
Registered length is longest configuration.
Just make sure that when you're using the shorter config, that the portion which has been removed can NOT make a silencer, on it's own.

Re: First Form 1 Design
Just asking again if anyone has an idea if this can will be okay on a 12.5'' 6.5 Grendel? Thanks! here you go: https://imgur.com/a/x0tEW32 You're designing for a sealed vessel, which a silencer should never be. If that were the case, a SF of 2.8 wouldn't suffice. If you care to search, there are me...

Re: 9mm design feedback requested
1) The 9mm Ks I make (home brew) have a .386 bore, but these are precision machined. In your case, I wouldn't go smaller than .415. Really hard to tell because your jig isn't in my hand to check. I head our 3D prototyping group so I'm versed in this technology. Be careful with your filament choice, ...

Re: just tried out form 1 9mm, S&W MP9 won't cycle AT ALL with it on
so now that I am looking into booster I am finding that they seem to have a different thread on the suppressor end? My thread fits directly to the barrel obviously so it's a 1/2-28 Does anyone know of a booster that has 1/2-28 on both ends? Or am I just going to have to make a new endcap? You can b...

Re: Form 1 build material sourcing?
the OD is so far out of "spec". You guys need to take tolerances into consideration. The Solvent trap "field" is no different than Aerospace. Materials have standards. Tubing in the 1.5" range can have a wall variance of 10% the thickness. A .065 wall could equal an ID ~.01...

Re: A couple of Chinese form 1 cans.
Do you have suggestions for modifications to the upper assembly itself? Currently, I'm using the Ball Bearing mod, I have the Delrin plate as a bolt buffer, and I make my own Delrin brrel collars. You can buy the Delrin collar and buffer. The ball bearing mod has to be done. The thing is, not all b...

Re: Consistent End Cap Strike on Form 1 Can
What I'm saying is that you've linked the same picture, look at the address. You didn't post a new baffle. The varying bore diameter came form one guy, on another forum. Tons of inexperienced builders jumped on it like it was the word of God. In reality, the differentiation was ~.005in radially. As ...

Re: Consistent End Cap Strike on Form 1 Can
Yes, unlawful. So is your question about replacing baffles. Each one could be considered an unregistered silencer. As illogical as it sounds, it's true. You'd need to file another form 1 or send it to an SOT, for it to be legal. You linked the same pic as before. You meant to show a different baffle...

Which upper conversion, for the 22lr, are you running?
Have you done any of the mods, to quiet them down? There are a couple.

Re: Consistent End Cap Strike on Form 1 Can
Those baffles aren't awesome. Just a step above a flat washer. You'd definitely want as many of those as you can get in there and clipped. However, if you're in the US (which I'm guessing due to you saying ATF and form1), it would be unlawful to add more baffles. Yes, larger expansion chambers are t...

Re: Consistent End Cap Strike on Form 1 Can
Part of the reason you're design could be loud is, as I said, the giant blast spacer and lack of baffles. I understand you swapped stack around, but that doesn't change number of baffles or spacing. I'd have a minimum of 10+ baffles, in an 8" 9mm suppressor. I could fit just about that w/ an in...

Re: Consistent End Cap Strike on Form 1 Can
How were baffle holes drilled? On lathe, drill press, by hand, rigidly fixed, loosely held, etc? How can you be sure barrel threads are concentric to bore? How can you be sure silencer proximal cap threads are concentric to tube? How can you be sure distal cap threads concentric to bore? Did you cli...

Re: First Form1 - .22lr
So I could make a dual purpose 1" can .223/.22lr if I made it from steel/ti and basically 9-10". might be a bit long for a .22lr pistol, but won't make much difference vs 6" on the rifle. Back to the drawing board to look at 9" kits. Honestly, I'd rather have a 1.25 x 6" 22...

Re: First Form1 - .22lr
The larger OD doesn't necessarily mean better performance. 22's can be stupid quiet w/ 1"OD x ~5"LG suppressors. Is there really a need to go to 1.25"? Yes, 1.25, made from proper materials, can be used for both. It will not be ideal, for either platform, but will work. You do not wan...

1 is the primary blast baffle/support that goes over over the tip of the brake. 2 is the "gas stripper" baffle. Is your process moving from left to right (as it should be depicted)? If so, #2 is called a blast baffle and what you're creating (around the baffle stack) is called a coaxial c...
