Re: First suppressor... which host?
I find myself shooting with a suppressed Ruger 22/45 pistol more often than anything else simply because it is quiet enough to shoot without drawing attention, which makes me feel more comfortable taking it with me for plinking while camping. Suppressed .22LR is like a pellet/BB gun, suppressed 9mm ...

Re: Backpressure Problem in a Semi-Auto Rifle?
With a suppressor there is almost no difference between a piston and a DI gas system. By far, the greatest majority of fouling is coming back through the chamber because of the suppressor. There is nothing you can do about this. Just keep a bottle of lube around and spray in the open action every th...

Re: Element 2 Body threading off mount?
You can take care of it yourself with some Rocksett. Just be sure to clean and degrease the threads before applying it. I love Rocksett- works great and never comes loose without applying a good amount of torque.

Griffin Armament on materials of Spartan 3:
I've been window shopping for my next 5.56 can and was intrigued by the weight of the Spartan 3. Griffin Armament's web page is vague about its construction, so I wrote them an email asking about it. They replied that the suppressor is made entirely from 17-4 PH SS, specifying that the material is t...

Re: AAC Illusion, new eccentric 9mm suppressor.
Credit where it's due: This is a product I'm interested in. It would be very nice to have a pistol can that didn't require higher sights- especially for pistols like the PPQ, for which suppressor sights aren't available.

Re: newb from GA...saker 556 on a 22lr?
Folks have reported poor results with Remington subsonics with dedicated .22 cans too, btw. Try some CCI subs. I echo the recommendation to avoid shooting very much .22lr through a rifle can. Once that lead buildup is in the can it isn't coming out again, except maybe in small chunks that break loos...

The Saker K with thread-on end should come in under 15oz and have all Stellite baffles, plus allowing you the option to switch it to quick attach later.
I'm really liking the look of that can.

Re: 5.56 Can Advice
Have you considered weight as a factor in your decision? After playing with my first few cans on rifles, and all the ones rated for 140dB or under sounded almost identical, weight jumped up near the top on my list of importance. If you're going to shoot 3-gun with it attached, attend classes, or do ...

In my experience, it depends on where the listener is in relation to the path of the bullet. If the listener is along the path of the bullet or near the point it impacts, the listener hears a "bang" as loud as a gunshot emanating from the bullet as it passes or impacts. If the listener is ...

Re: Plated bullets through suppressor?
Did you find that load to ring your ears? I have both a G17 and G19 both with Lone Wolf barrels and the other day I tried either 3.4 or 3.5gr of Bullseye (I forget which) pushing a 147gr MG CMJ through two Octane 9's and it rang both my ears and that of a friend. The bullet was not going supersonic...

Re: AK Trifecta Mounts
AK's often have non concentric threads or other alignment issues. A silencer mounted with bad alignment will get a baffle strike, damaging or destroying it. You don't see many silencer thread adapters for AKs because of this.
Suppressing an AK is a pain in the ass.

I use it constantly for the Ranger 2 on my AR. Re: Say it ain't so........
What you're saying makes perfect sense, but the apparent failure rate of SIG's US made guns (all the new designs, including the Sig556 rifle) is notably higher than premium domestically produced firearms in the same cost range (Colt ARs, BCM products, Arsenal AKs, etc). Disturbingly, some of the fai...

You didn't know the rifles and pistols made by SIG in the US had a reputation for issues with quality control? Do a google search for sig quality control. If memory serves, SIG wasn't doing well and brought in the same guy who wrecked Kimber's quality to save the company. It worked, but SIG's US mad...

All hoaxes play on something that there is some reason why some people would believe it. Certainly. And all plausible rumors that do later turn out to be true could just as easily been hoaxes when they were first told. I honestly don't care so much about this particular rumor as I do other evidence...

You guys still talking about this? When you see something without a named source, then it generally cannot be trusted. Dude. Regarding Freedom Group, a rumor like this seems plausible enough. Whether or not it tuns out to be true, the fact that it's believable is bad enough. They seem to be in the ...

Re: 17-4 ph baffles on a 10.5 sbr?
Even if you did make a can with stainless baffles that lasted as long as one using inconel, it would have to be heavier and/or louder to do it. There's no advantage to stainless baffles other than cost. If that can isn't a whole lot cheaper (and cheaper is what you're willing to settle for in an ite...

Re: Stuck on a fence between AAC & Silencerco
I'd add the old Ranger series thread-on cans. They are still the only all steel/inconel cans that are under 140dB and under 20oz total weight. I'd go with the Saker. It has a better mount, is the same weight, might have the option to use a thread-on attachment which will make it even lighter, and st...
