Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

Already posted in the handgun section but not getting much action.... any specific threaded barrel brands you trust for suppressed Glock 19? Considering SilencerCo, but open to suggestion if anyone has a better idea. I've never had a problem w/ any Lone Wolf barrel I've owned. Yeah, Lone Wolf and S...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

The Crux booster arrived on Friday. They also included an extra piston for 45. I am pleased so far with the quality..... the housing is nitrided stainless.

Just waiting on the tube at this point, and then I can get started.

Re: Need guidance on a threaded barrel for a Glock 19

I have a couple of Lone Wolf barrels that work just fine with suppressors (17,21). Recently bought a Brownell's threaded barrel for Glock19 gen5mos that seems to be very accurate as well. Yeah I have seen good reviews on the Brownell's barrels but they are discontinued. The Lone Wolf and the SilCo ...

Re: Heat Treating Finished Inconel Baffles

Maybe there would be issues with your heat treating oven, but I would think since those aren't incredibly high temps to hold it shouldn't be as big a deal as you would think. Once the oven is up to temp the elements should just cycle on and off to maintain temp....since they are not cooling down in ...

Need info on 5.56 SCAR bolt value

I intend to post this for sale but I need some help establishing what it is worth. I don’t own a SCAR, and know very little about them. I have a stripped bolt that I have no use for, and would like to get an idea of what it is worth, or if anyone would even want it. I have found complete bolts for $...

Re: Need guidance on a threaded barrel for a Glock 19

I don't own a Glock and never purchased anything from this company. Just saw this link recently on another forum and thought I'd share. Ok, I love a bargain as much as anyone, but I would prefer spending a bit more for a reliable performer instead of rolling the dice and ending up with a dud. It is...

I like the prices, what can you tell me about them? You have experience running them suppressed?

Re: Need guidance on a threaded barrel for a Glock 19

Are you using the new line of Lone Wolf or the original cheaper ones?

What does 40% get you down to? Haven't found them on their website (crappy signal where I am)....I can get them through Brownell’s for $150 and I have seen them around $120 on GB.

Need guidance on a threaded barrel for a Glock 19

Shopping for a threaded barrel for my Glock 19, originally had a Lone Wolf that either has evaporated or I sold it to fund another project and forgot about it. Anyway if I still own it, I can’t find it.... and it sounds like even if I knew where it was it may not have been the best choice to run a s...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

I have always wanted a rotary table, but I think I will see if I can make due with the lathe for work holding. I’ll try to do the main face groove with the lathe and that should cut down on the work with the live tooling. Chatter-free trepan cuts are difficult even on large, heavy machines. I do al...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

In regards to the small extra cut above the rear scoop, My hope was that the main crossjet would be below it and it would just allow extra flow to be vectored into the port off the boreline....maybe it would just create turbulence in a place I don't want it. T-Rex did you make those k's on CNC or on...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

Ok I changed the angle of attack back to where I started (somewhat). I will have to stop the smaller radiused cut in the face in that area to leave material. I realize I am still staring the port cut higher than you suggest, but the top of the actual waste port starts about even with the bottom of t...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

I like the way you did that port. Did you come in from the front at an angle through the scoop to cut it? Have you tried it with pistol calibers?.....subs only? I have been considering a heavy duty K-can for the 308. I was trying to make the front face deeper, and trying to take the scoop as deep as...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

If you look at the lower left hand part of the Tirant baffle pic you can barely see the top of the scoop cut coming up close to front face of the baffle..... guessing it sits down in the bore about the same distance as the width of that front flat face. I went ahead and moved out the cut that opens ...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

Thanks ECCO, I had been wondering if there were o-rings involved..... I have never owned a centerfire pistol can, so I have never been into a LID assembly. Ok, I have returned back to the TiRant roots of the design, and just shortened up the baffle length and eliminated the nesting counterbore in th...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

I understand what you're trying to convey, but IMHO the theory isn't sound.Everything is moving outward, but, at the same time, forward. The TiRant's vent cut starts almost where the face scoop ends. The jet is almost 100% responsible for filling the low pressure, coaxial space. Make some K's and v...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

I'm not trying to argue, but let me explain my thought process so you can tell me when you think I have deviated from reality. I posted a picture of the TiRant baffle, and as you can see the port (and the bottom edge of the port that divides the gas) is offset from the boreline quite a bit further.....

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

Here is an updated drawing trying to show how I am thinking about doing the port into the coaxial chamber. May end up taking some of that upper hook out in the end but I didn’t want to open up that port too much to begin with. Think about going in with a smaller ball nosed end mill (maybe about .25”...

Re: Two Form 1’s in the design phase

Like the looks of the designs T-Rex and ECCO have posted. What kind of tolerence on the piston fit? Assuming if it gets too tight it will jam up with crud. I run the booster bore at 1.000" +.002/-0 and piston head diameter is .996" ± .001. So .004-.005” clearance..... a bit more then I ex...
