Re: Current gold standard for rimfire can?

Mask HD is a darn good performer.

Against my Warlock II (aluminum Spectre II) it is hands down winner with almost no FRP and nicer tone to boot.

There are lots of truly great rimfire cans on the market now but I can honestly say after a couple years with the Mask I'm still glad I bought it.

4 Years on ST

Just noticed yesterday was my 4 year anniversary on ST. A lot has changed in that time and, naturally, a lot has stayed the same. A few things I've learned in my short time: Whatever you buy will become obsolete, eventually. The industry has to stay current to stay successful (just look what's happe...

Re: So I've been away....

Welcome back. Lots has changed since you joined and it's a beautiful thing! Your choice is very simple: either the Rugged Obsidian 45 or the Dead Air Ghost M. I have the Obsidian and it is fantastic. Dry with factory S&B 230 fmj on my 1911, it sounds very similar to a loud hand clap only just a ...

Re: Deadair sandman S / Fake can?

I'm doing an end run around the issue untill my Deadair gets out of jail..... I am going to convert my Silencerco Omega to the Deadair mount system....(I was never crazy about the Silencerco ASR mount anyway!) it is a little pricy.... But being able to switch can to can from host to host makes sens...

You'll have that paid off soon but you'll enjoy a lifetime with your Ghost. Looking forward [a year or so] to hearing your comparisons with it and the Obsidian

Re: New European Designs

And now, I'm going to humbly ask, what was the 1940 classic on? A suppressed MP40? I know the Germans did make some, but I was under the impression that (at least one version) used bakelite baffles, rather than machined baffles, which the above appears to be machined. I believe that can was for a 9...

Re: Deadair sandman S / Fake can?

It could be done by someone with a lathe but you really need the ring and spring that go on the end of the can (locking pieces). It's probably not worth it, just wait for your can

Re: WTH is up with nfa branch?

Been a month since I filed my Form1 and still nothing. Decided to fill out another one. Site was slow and I was having to wait while trying to enter the specs, so I decided I'd better add in a picture for clarity. You know, just in case. I was reminded of what I said I'd do on here, so I did just t...

Re: Quieter 45 loads?

I don't know and don't ever recall hearing any discussion about it. I would imagine ammo "for short barrel guns" or better self defense ammo (less flash for low light situations) would be quieter but it's not going to be the cheapest. Our market is very limited. I bet adding a little white...

Every commercial can I own has asymmetrical clips on all the baffles. I doubt that's an issue.

Have you tried multiple kinds of ammo?

Re: Request assistance in locating 1/2x28 threaded Makarov barrel...

There used to be a company that offered these but afaik there is no longer. You can try to find one on the used market but they are very scarce.

Your other option is to send a barrel off to a company like Turbo Tech and they will extend and thread it.
