I've had Pair.com for my websites for years. They are an ala carte hosting place in Pittsburgh that has been around for years. They have connections to the internet backbone through 2 different avenues so that if one went down the other is up. My sites have never gone down on me in the last 7 years....

Zak Smith recently wrote a great article for 6mmBR website, which compared 3 different 6.5 mm rounds--the .260 Remington, 6.5x47 Lapua, and 6.5 Creedmoor. http://demigodllc.com/articles/6.5-shootout-260-6.5x47-6.5-creedmoor/ He found that the 260 Remington and 6.5 Creedmoor were functionally equival...

The Bushmaster M17S shoots well, but has a Rube Goldberg trigger system with a long rod to the hammer area. No trigger available to make it better. You have to take it apart and shine the rod and parts and lube them to make the trigger decent. It will never be like a good trigger on an AR15.

For people who want a pocket pistol with power, I recommend the Taurus 745. It's a small single stack 45 ACP. I have had one for a couple of years and like it a lot. It fits in my pocket fine. It is 1.125" wide while the Kel-Tec you mentioned is 1.0" wide. The 745 has a 6 round mag, weighs...

I didn't know Corbon had 460 Rowland ammo. They have one load, the 185 grain at 1425 fps (others are 230 FMJ&JHP, 255gr). That's just slightly above the Georgia Arms Defense Load at 1400 fps (full power 185gr is 1550 fps). Corbon is $21.74 for 20 rounds while Georgia Arms comes in 50-packs at $2...

My Kimber Custom II that I use with the 460 Rowland barrel has a steel frame. I don't know that alloy-framed 1911's wouldn't work, but you are stepping up in power quite a bit, so maybe caution in that regard is useful. They don't make a 460 Rowland barrel without a compensator, which adds 1.5"...

brutaldiver, I've had the .460 Rowland barrel for about 5-6 years and use it in a Kimber Custom II. I like it a lot. You can shoot the 45 Super in it too, although I have found that the normal 460 Rowland 24 lb spring is too stiff when using 45 Super to cycle it. It's best to use a 22 or 20 lb sprin...

I use Trailboss powder in my suppressed .308 with 18" barrel and 1in10 twist.

CCI BR2 primers (although others would work fine too)
10.8 grains of Trailboss with 175gr SMK bullet, or 180gr RN bullet.
~1050 fps

Note: no rifle bullet is going to expand at these speeds

I have about 10 boxes of 20, of XM118LR PD sniper ammo, and it is 2002/3 production. This would be the #2 stuff from Lake City in the 20-round boxes. It uses the Sierra Matchking 175gr bullet. It's decent, but my precision handloads are better and more accurate. The #2 stuff in the 20 round boxes is...

no4mk1t, the X does not note experimental, it denotes the 3rd level grade of Lake City production. The #1 stuff goes to the troops. The #2 stuff is put in 20 round boxes, and the #3 stuff is bulk packed and marked "for training purposes only". I bought 1000 rounds of XM80 a couple of years...

Speaking of 22 WMR, Hornady has just come out with high velocity rounds, advertised as 2200 fps. It uses a 30-grain spire point bullet with the plastic tip. It's the same concept they used for 17 WMR and Mach2. I'll have to buy a couple of boxes and chronograph them from my 6.5" barrel revolver...

Well, since you like your Bushnell, you could look at the new Bushnell Elite 6500 model in 2.5-16 by 42mm. Or a similar one in the 4200. The 6500 is a couple of hundred more than the 4200. Check SWFA. http://www.swfa.com/c-2172-bushnell-elite-6500-rifle-scopes.aspx Or...you could look at the new Fal...

I wanted to add that DPMS in 2008 is making the LR308 available on all the 308 based calibers. Quite a choice now, but the 260 Remington is a powerful choice for long range precision to 1500 yards with handloads and high BC bullets. Same gun for all except a different barrel. 243 - 308 brass necked ...

I have a DPMS LR308B (18" bull barrel) and have had it a couple of years. I think on the trigger you should wait and see what the trigger is like on the new gun. Mine was crisp with no creep from the factory, so I bought the JP Rifles spring kit to lower it to 4-4.5 lbs. Takes 15-20 minutes to ...

Why bother with a custom can? The .243 uses the same brass as the .308, so why not use a AAC Cyclone (Threaded) or AAC 762SD (quick detachable) made for the 30 caliber? This way it will work with a 243 or 308 or a 6.8 or 6.5 or other rifles in between. You'll find plenty of people on this website wh...

This may not matter if you are leaving the suppressor on all the time, but I was interested in what the shift was in POI between suppressor on and off? If you didn't measure that, then ignore my question. :-)

BTW, good shooting!

For ballistics calculators, you have to have a zero range and muzzle velocity. Since you don't have either, how can the ballistic calculator solve it for you? Falling 36" from the full power zero at 100 yards, sounds like you were going far below the goal of 1050 FPS at the muzzle for subsonics...

In the Guns Tests magazine article I referred to (Jan 2008) they gave the Savage Mark II F an "F" grade, and the Marlin 917M2 an "A-" grade. The reason was that the Savage model did not have a varmint barrel (had a thin light sporter barrel) and suffered heating problems and also...

I don't know how to calculate it, but I do know that subsonics will hit 13-17" lower at 100 yards for most rifle calibers. The only way to know is to actually do it and measure the difference. I would dial in for 13"/MOA higher and at least you'd be on paper.

The type of trust we use for firearms is a Revocable Living Trust and not an Irrevocable Trust. Since the grantor of a Revocable trust can put in and remove assets from the trust, it is taxed if necessary as if the trust didn't exist (on your personal income tax form 1040). If you had an Irrevocable...
