Re: Gemtech .22 Ammo
The GemTech .22 subsonic is loud to me and my friends. S&B and Aquilla subs are far, far quieter and just as accurate when shooting a C-zone steel at 25 yards. One is usually not playing bullseye when shooting a .22 pistol with a suppressor.

Re: Gemtech GM9 suppressor
I feel the same way about my GM-45.. It's LOUD... especially the first shot. Only full of ablative does it fall under the level of pain. It is by far the loudest 45 suppressor I have ever sold or shot. Even the older AWC can meant to be packed with lithium grease is way quieter! I do have a Quicksan...

Re: Thoughts on Gemtech Quality Control & Customer Service
I've had good luck with GemTech over the years and I guess I've always liked the fact that Doc Dater was there. The rep I use, even today when the corporate directory tries to steer you over to a kid who works for Smith and Wesson, has been there a long time and has helped me with every purchase and...

Re: Obsidian or Griffin Resolution 9 mm?
Hello, I need your expertise! I am getting ready to purchase my first suppressor and only knowledge I have is looking at YouTube videos so I like the Obsidian rugged suppressor. I called up to the silencer shop and a gentleman told me about the Griffin resolution 9. I guess it all boils down to the...

Re: Rugged Oculus vs Dead Air Mask (Metered)
I use C weighting as Dr. Dater recommends. C weighting for reality, A weighting for Mil Spec and marketing comparisons. I think you pretty much have to quote A numbers or long threads ensure :D Hard to disagree with Doc Dater... I talked to him last year about the Mist barrels... I talked to him in...

Re: Rugged Oculus vs Dead Air Mask (Metered)
For my purposes, I will sometimes use a cheaper dB meter to sort of "confirm" what I am hearing. I don't put it up against any stated numbers but for side by side comparisons it can offer at least some insight. i.e. metering 120 on can A vs 125 on Can B, when can A reads 120.5, 119.9, 119...

I think the Oculus is better, you will see when you get one. Yea but the Mask HD is quieter than the oculus. I hope dead air is as good as people say it is. Because I’m about to drop $1,500 on a mask HD , and Odessa 9 i hope you got a chance to look at the Mask/Ghost deal first. The deal is still o...

Due to customer demand: New from Warren Innovative Technologies, LLC: The Front Cap Wrench for the Silencerco Octane series of sound suppressors. Re: New guy with a question
Good Day All. I am relatively new to suppressors and have lurked this site for a while now to soak up what I can before becoming that guy, but alas I must pose a question. Does a suppressor have to thread all the way onto all the threads on a barrel to function without complications? I will provide...

Shot my Rugged Surge .45 the other day for the first time with the 9mm endcap on my Sig MK-25 Navy with a factory threaded barrel in backwards x 13.5. Got a baffle strike immediately on the 9mm endcap. Sig, factory tb, Rugged 13.5 LH piston, S&B 158 grain. Never had a problem with this ammunitio...

Re: BUMMED... second day with new suppressor... end cap strike... UPDATED
Wish I had got a few of those... it would have saved me several hundred dollars on pistons... I have quite a few suppressors and being a bit OCD about my firearms like to have two of everything for every suppressor. I know that at least two companie's and now maybe three are totally interchangeable,...

Re: BUMMED... second day with new suppressor... end cap strike... UPDATED
Now its fairly easy to find Sigs with factory threaded barrels... and I believe I have bought two factory threaded barrels from them for my pistols that did not have them. They are threaded backwards but it's just another few pistons to buy. 13.5x1 LH I think, without having to get up and go all the...

Re: BUMMED... second day with new suppressor... end cap strike...
... Send Rugged a pic of your end cap and they will probably send you a new one, they did with me a couple of years ago. Was there a root cause determined for the end cap damage you experienced? Looseness? Cocentricity? I had used too much wire pulling gel as an ablative and I believe some of it go...

Re: BUMMED... second day with new suppressor... end cap strike...
Start using Vibra-Tite VC-3 or a couple drops of blue Locktite on your barrel threads. Can stays put and you can get it off... usually by hand, sometimes with a little help from a strap wrench. Send Rugged a pic of your end cap and they will probably send you a new one, they did with me a couple of ...

Re: SBR running super hot with silencer
The Specwar has a good amount of volume, so after the bullet leaves the can, it is holding a lot of high pressure fire ball. If the bolt opens before pressure drops that heat comes back down the barrel into the action. How dirty is it running and is the reciever as hot as the handguard? Did you adj...

Re: AAC SR-7 Baffle Strike the first week of the ownership
The baffles in my SR-7 look different with respect to the notch cuts, his have a jagged little thing at the bottom... especially the last baffle in his can and it even looks like it is bent out a bit on the right hand side as you look at it. However, if the bullet really did make those groves then i...

I have an sdta B cell titanium tube and a 5/8x24 threaded cap and well I over tightened it with a wrench. I did lube the threads very liberally with both auto moly grease and clp. The problem is I can’t get a hold of the tube and the wrench I’m using also won’t stick to the cap. I don’t have a vice...
