Re: charging handle hanging
No it has not happened to me. Just wondering if anybody has accidentally triggered the release latch on something and got a face full. I know the ar has been around a long time but that charging handle has always bothered me being that close to something so good looking. Thanks for the answers. You...

Re: charging handle hanging
Hard to tell if the OP actually had this happen or if he is just asking out of curiosity. I would be interested to know if this has actually happened, I would imagine it would leave a nice little black eye or pinch the living daylights out of your cheek between the handle and tube. This is a new one...

If your charging handle hits you in the face, you're doing it wrong.

Re: Cardio. Or what have you done to prepare yourself today
I force myself to run at least 3-7 miles a day at a rate that really pushes my body. I HATE running but the benefits far outweigh the discomfort. I also try to do 500 situps and pushups a day if I can work it into my timeline. For my body's sake, along with constant chiropractic appointments I try t...

I can't believe I'm even thinking about buying a Gemtech can again, but this piqued my interest a little. I will probably wait until it has been out for a while and credible reviews surface.

Re: Can't decide Remington 5r or AAC-SD for use with silence
GunOwner, Much more specific advice can be given to help you decide which rifle would be best for you, but we need to know what your intentions/expectations are with the rifle. Are you wanting one for hunting, competition, target shooting, all the above, etc? Subsonics only, supersonics only, mix of...

Re: Can't decide Remington 5r or AAC-SD for use with silence
I started off using 168s in the army, but then they transitioned over to the 175s. Having used both rounds through the same weapons, I am a big fan of the 175 for long range shooting.

Re: What is on the end of the silencer that killed Bin Laden
ARMY and Contractor. If you were using cans, I imagine you were a Para or Ranger? For Contractor: Security, Intel, Transport, Food Service? I know people who cleaned up at KBR. Mostly Electricians and Plumbers, but some other Specs. Regular army infantry units have had cans in their inventory for a...

Re: What is on the end of the silencer that killed Bin Laden
We're going to start seeing a newb trend of suppressor mounted flip caps at the ranges now. And soon after we will see a rash of melted flip caps on the end of suppressors. My guess is once they see the melted flip cap on the end of their can, they will assume the SEALs use it for an instant liquef...

Re: Can't decide Remington 5r or AAC-SD for use with silence
I second what vette said, the 1:10 rifling is better for stabilizing subsonic rounds. I don't know if you are set on a 20'' bbl, but AAC also offers the .308 SD with a 16.5'' bbl, which makes for an excellent compact precision rifle. Mine is consistently sub-MOA and even with a suppressor on it is j...

Winchester White Box 147gr JHP goes supersonic in my MP5 (8" bbl), but stays subsonic in my Glock 17.

It's a good choice for a factory sub load. It's quiet, and fairly accurate; if I recall correctly it hovered around 1 MOA.

Re: Rem 700 SPS Tactical
Perhaps they intended the rifle to be used in the LE and/or hunting environments. Both would be mostly using full-power rounds, but would also benefit from having a suppressed rifle.

I saw there's one on GunBroker with a 1/2x28 thread pitch for $1,000. Pretty cool gun, but I'm sure those aren't factory threads, and it isn't from MOSSAD.
