Re: Carrying around the tax stamp

Google Drive............. All Form "Whatevers" are loaded there and can be shown if needed. Done carrying paper............. If I were to use this method, I would use a "throw down" Google Drive account so the LEO/Fed doesn't have access to other docs. But now we are back to the...

Re: Full metal jackets and suppressors

I know that is today's reality, but it is NOT the way the Constitution is written. The founding document limits what the federal government can do, EVERYTHING else is supposed to fall to the states and the people. Absolutely the opposite of how it stands today. "A well regulated militia being n...

Also, DO NOT have any non-SBR lowers that do not have an upper attached to them anywhere. If you have ANY unattached short barreled or pistol uppers and ANY non-SBR or non-Pistol lowers without uppers built; you could be charged with constructive possession. Just an FYI if you were not aware. It is ...

I think that if we mere mortals can't get new machine guns, then the various .govs should not be able to either.

In theory, they work for us.

Re: Oil filter adapters?

It doesn't have to be the original manufacturer that replaces the filter does it? Any 07/02 can change out the filter? Any 07/02 can change out the filter. So then, if a person were to use a 'solvent trap adapter' to legally build an oil filter suppressor on a Form 1 would that person be able to ch...

Re: Changing/Remaking a can.

Have an 02/07 build you a custom silencer and be done with it. No legal issues there.

I don't think any of us here have the money (lawyers) or the time (more money) to test the ATF in court. And even if someone were to win on your #3 scenario, it still would not fix the problem.

have you considered stainless fender washers and using some stainless tube for spacers? McMaster-Carr or someplace similar would carry that.

Re: Changing/Remaking a can.

Think about it this way: The entire concept of the NFA is a direct violation of the 2nd amendment and thus makes no sense at all. In addition, the ATF has interpreted various parts of the NFA in strange and often contradictory ways. And you are trying to figure out why some part of the ATF's interpr...

Re: Whitehouse.gov petition to remove silencers from the nfa

I sincerely doubt anything in the NFA rules will get better for us until after a "government reset". In fact, I suspect they will get materially worse in the near term. I, for one, will not be signing that petition as I don't want to be the mole in "whack a mole". I do not wish f...

FBI UPIN and NICS Questions

The last time I purchased a firearm thru retail was pre-Brady, so I was very surprised when I bought a pistol a couple of weeks ago and did not get "approved" immediately. In fact it took 8 business days to go from "research" to "approved" in the VA State Police NICS eq...

...All this got me thinking. If this practice of making unregulated stacks became "OK" in the eyes of the feds, would form 1 silencer-smithing, involving experimentation, become possible as long as the tube dimensions remained unchanged? Yes, I realize just bc ATF allows Sig/OSS to do it ...

Re: Finally approved to make my first build (.308)

It appears that you have an extra suppressor part, this is completely verboten. It would be a good idea to destroy that to reduce your risk. Of course, it could be a part that you simply took out of your suppressor for demonstration, in which case you are fine...

Nice setup there.

Re: Best way to quiet 10/22 action?

Are any of the bolt locks for the 10/22 worth the try or do you just use your thumb when you want quiet? I'd rather not have to drill or alter anything. Is there a simple device to keep the bolt closed for those few times of needing quiet but allows you to quickly change back over to semi without t...

About 50% of the population is by definition below average and average is pretty f..king stupid.

I repeat this many time each day.

Richmond, VA is not much better that Robstown, TX (I've been there) or Roswell, NM (I've been there too); and Richmond had at least 3 universities in it!

Based on what I can see in the picture, it is made of some sort of metal and possibly some sort of plastic type material.

MUCH better pictures are required if you want any hope of an identification.

Re: Comments requested for two Form 1 ideas.

Do you have extra barrels for your shotgun or is it a old single barrel type. To do the 10-22 a mill is required and a lathe. I don't remember the make/model of the shotgun at the moment, I haven't pulled it out of the safe for several years. I don't have any extra barrels for it and it is certainl...

Comments requested for two Form 1 ideas.

I've been lurking for a while and just recently registered for this board. I am seriously impressed with the quality (and quantity) of work presented here. I sold my small collection of NFA stuff shortly after the Clinton election, but have decided to setup a trust and build a few form 1 suppressors...
