Re: AAC Illusion 9 indexing on sig MPX?
A 16" barrel is a poor choice for a suppressed 9mm because even 147gr ammo will be supersonic with much more than a 7 to 8" barrel. I'd think hard about where you want to end up so you don't spend way more money in the long run. If I had your gun I'd be thinking SBR for sure. Not really, ...

About 2 7/8" to the longest prong, but take your own measurement to be on the safe side.

You're right, it shouldn't, but you gave them an out. That's what I call top notch CS.

Re: Fix non-concentric VZ-2008 muzzle
Basically, it would have to be cut back far enough to get the proper shoulder, and still be threaded concentric to the bore. I could be wrong though.

I've seen a couple of NFA MPX Cs on gunbroker. I think an 8" barrel was the shortest though.

Curious if anyone shoots a standard .243 win through a suppressor? If it has any significant affect on noise dampening?
I shoot my Ruger .243(full power loads) suppressed all the time. I started out using a Cyclone, but switched to a Harvester. Other than sonic crack, it sounds fantastic.

Re: Suppressor finish.
Seems that the initial coatings are hit or miss from a couple of manufacturers. I had a 22 suppressor wipe completely clean, I mean no finish left. Denatured alcohol stripped it clean off. Cerakote C it, and call it good.

Re: Octane 45 HD solid mounts
Ah I see, so you're supposed to torque the mount onto your barrel first, and then thread the can onto the mount. I would have installed the mount in the can first, and then threaded the whole thing onto the barrel. You're right, mount to can first. Hand tight, not gorilla tight. Flats are there to ...

Re: Sealing off gas to threads, O-ring or contact shoulder?
Mine didn't come with an o-ring, it just stops on the booster housing when screwed on tight, same with the fixed barrel spacer. I don't know if that answers your question, or not.

Re: Octane 45 HD solid mounts
I've got an email in to SilCo on this, just backwards of what you're asking. I'll let you know what I come up with.
I'm curious about the longer threads. The manual says it is longer to accommodate the wrench flats for removal of the mount.

As long as something permanently attached brings it to >16", no 2nd stamp is needed. It could be a mono-core, outer tube, or a silencer.

Re: Octane 45K, Jacketed Ammo ONLY Cleaning?
TMJ, or FMJ? In all honesty, it will be a long time before any significant cleaning will need to be done. My 9HD has over 500 plated Berry's 147s through it, and it is "spotless". Sure, there is a little bit of carbon on the baffles, but no real buildup. The booster housing is where I conc...

Jason has it right. I am thinking about using it on my rimfire. As of now, it has only had centerfire through it. Just wondering if I can dip it clean, if I decide to do it.

All SS sealed can, and "the dip"?
Have a heavy 5.56 can that has since been replaced with lighter models, so it just sits in the safe. Was thinking about using it on my AMT 10/22, with a HEAVY barrel. It only sees bench use, so another pound and a half is no big deal. Can you get the lead out?

A serious question here; As I understand the rule, trust has to submit fingerprints for everyone who is a trustee when the trust acquires or transfers a NFA Weapon. So what is to stop someone from forming a trust with them self as the only trustee, acquiring NFA toys, and then restating the trust a...

JMHO, but the Shadow isn't going to be any better in your hands, then the B Omega. However, if you want to spend the extra money, I'm definitely not the person who will try to talk you out of it. I have several higher end models that perform slightly better than their mid-range brothers, but I wante...
