Re: Register the suppressor to a corporation??
That's the bigger deal, IMO. Trust vs Corp for NFA ownership makes no real difference, the difference is whether it's hard or easy to start/maintain a corporation in your state. Some states you just drop off papers once. Others require corporate paperwork and taxes every year, and if you forget, you...

Re: Subsonic
He has a silencer. If he's going to buy and shoot the ammo for testing he doesn't need a chrono, he can just listen for sonic crack. Ammo with no sonic crack was subsonic.doubloon wrote:Yeah, it's not perfect but the real answer is buy a chrono.

^^^Where in NC?
I do the same thing you do. I have a small binder full of reduced-size watermarked copies of all my gun paperwork that lives in my glove compartment, or in my carry-on when I fly with guns.

This place is pretty dead nowadays. It's easier to find something on Page 1 of Arfcom than page 38 of ST.

Re: 308 to 22?
The CNC Guns site shows very poorly designed K baffles, I would not emulate those. If you want a commercial silencer, pretty much any stainless/inconel .308 silencer would be fine for occasional limited .22LR use. If you gunk it up you can use the Dip to clean it. Or buy a disassembling .308 silence...

Re: Solvent traps/adapters crackdown
The article is garbage. It refers to the oil filter adapters, which is a long-settled issue, not the current wave of "solvent trap" components sold online, which are all very carefully considered from a legal perspective. And the article he links to "prove" his point makes no men...

Re: Flying with a suppressor
If you have the time there is a "form" you should fill out and wait for approval... If not simply declare your goodies with a ticketing agent I know this is a necro post, but the above is potentially dangerous advice. Silencers and AOWs do not require the form 5320.20 to take across state...

Warlock II: solid, but aluminum .22 cans suck in general GA Reece: Never heard of them. That should tell you something if they have been around a while. Sig: None of these are in the wild yet. Their .22 can metered loudly compared to the competition when tested by SilencerShop, though their test rig...

Sparrow has no FRP on a rifle. Therefore my advice is usually: pistol host, Element 2, rifle host, Sparrow.

... despite driving around with visible NFA items in the backseat sometimes. I've thought about investing in the invisible kind but then for the full effect you have to use the invisible ammo and that makes invisible holes in the target which is a pain to score. Plus the tax is $400 on the invisibl...

Re: Getting checked for legal silencer and stamp
I've been asked for forms twice: once at a private indoor range in Raleigh, NC, and once at a public outdoor range near Oldsmar, FL. I carry forms with me and didn't mind showing them. Plus it usually leads to me teaching a RO how to get NFA weapons. I've never been asked by a LEO despite driving ar...

I don't think the examiners are the ones licking envelopes. Approved forms probably go in a stack to be sent out by the mail room. They probably have a giant mound of them to get through and are back logged just like the examiners.

Saker K with direct-thread mount is an awesome choice for SBRs. Very durable and good sound while being a bit lighter and smaller than with the MAAD mount.

Re: Need advice on a 5.56 suppressor
I think you're making a very tall order. QD systems add a lot of weight to a can. Non-Titanium cans under 16oz are all K-length and not very quiet. There are some full size Ti QD cans in your weight range like the Gemtech G5 Ti but I don't think Ti is the best choice for any hard use on an SBR. And ...

No. And the thing that baffles me (pun intended) is that I'm contemplating a third, but in a redundant caliber. I used to think the guys on here who did that were... odd... strange... addicted... I don't know specifically what I thought, but it wasn't flattering. Now I'm considering the same thing....

Re: AAC Mini4 Question (vs M4-2000/SDN-6) Question
Mini4 is loud. A friend of mine has one on an entry carbine, not fun at all. It's more of a moderator, than a suppressor. As per AAC: Mini4 22dB reduction, M42K 32dB reduction. 10dBs is a huge difference to the shooter. M42K is a much better suppressor for the "casual" shooter. No matter ...
