Re: AAC Tirant 9 vs. SWR Octane 9 HD2 + dealer/price questio

My local dealer has an $800 price tag on one as well. I would like to support my local dealers, but I had to go with silencershop at $549 shipped. Don't forget to buy the piston. Guy at silencershop said it comes with one at that price so I got the 1/2x28. +1 When I first saw their price I had doub...

Holy s--t silencershop communicates well. So far they have been top-notch. I feel good purchasing from them.

Can't believe I'm going to drop $800~ on something I won't be able to shoot until the late summer at the earliest. How do you guys cope with the wait? :D

Re: AAC Tirant 9 vs. SWR Octane 9 HD2 + dealer/price questio

Spoke with Roy at silencershop, definitely seems like a solid operation there with a great price. He answered all my questions too.

Question that just occurred to me: Do I need to wait to submit my form 4 until the form 3 is finished and the suppressor arrives at my local dealer?

Re: AAC Tirant 9 vs. SWR Octane 9 HZD2 + dealer/price questi

I know the two have been compared a lot on the internet, but I'm coming down to making a decision here and I'd let to get some feedback insofar as it applies to my specific uses...which are: a) the ability to take it apart since I shoot A LOT of lead, b) ability to mount on many different 9mm handg...

Re: User-serviceable 9mm pistol suppressor?

Yeah, the Octane HD2 definitely seems to win out over the Tirant with 2:1 odds considering the reviews and forum discussions I'm reading. Seems like everyone compares the two which is helpful as well. I know of a few AAC dealers, I'll need to see if there are any SWR dealers in NH. I'm having troubl...

Re: User-serviceable 9mm pistol suppressor?

If I were in your shoes I'd go with the SWR Octane9 HD. The reasons are simple. The TiRant's baffles are exposed to the outer tube. If shooting lead bullets, fouling and lead will deposit between the baffles and the outer tube. Making cleaning and disassembly a real bitch. Plus the TiRant's baffle ...

User-serviceable 9mm pistol suppressor?

I'm considering getting into the NFA world via my first suppressor purchase; still learning all the ins and outs on this topic. I'm looking at the AAC Tirant in 9mm pretty seriously since it seems to fit my needs: User serviceability - I shoot a lot of lead reloads so I'd like one I can take apart t...
