Suputin, ...Are you really maintaining that gas will not flow through a hole that is 50% the size of the bore?... Your .125" holes are not 50% of a .250" hole. When the diameter is halved, surface area (or lack of surface area in this case) gets quartered. Combined, your three holes are 7...

OK, I have two questions: 1. Why would anyone bother to use a method so elaborate, yet so inefficient and risky just to take down some buildings? Terrorists use bombs all the time. It would have been easy to simply come up with a really big explosive (or several of them) to take down a building, and...

My line of thinking is that because CO2 has 2 atoms of oxygen it will promote ignition of hot gases. Better to use an inert gas and the most readily available inert gase is argon. Jeff If that were the case, CO2 would never have been used in fire extinguishers. The dry ice wouldn't cool the gases. ...

Less out the front means it went somewhere. Out the back of course. That bullet traveled maybe two feet in the videos. With the action still locked, the 'back door' isn't exactly wide open. Of course that brings up another point: How hard could it possibly be to delay the exit of gas for less than ...

By the way, the velocities rsilvers quoted are INCREASES when using a suppressor. It's the older designs utilizing wipes that produced reduced velocities and major POI shift in random directions. No competetive suppressors on the market today utilize wipes.

The problem was that compact subguns could not penetrate body armor. This can, and it holds 50 rounds. It is for cooks, engineers, etc -- people who do not carry a full size rifle. A pistol has a poor hit probability. Cooks and engineers really need to shoot people who wear body armor. Who the hell...

Here's my thought on subsonic ammo in a centerfire rifle - what's the point? A .308 is proven effective in modern combat at 1300 meters, so long as the muzzle blast and flash dont report the shooters position, the supressor did it's job. Now w/pistols, however, where range is an issue - different s...

Soda bottle caps aren't very strong. I think you would run the risk of having the cap break when the gun attempts to "shoot" the bottle off of the barrel. Perhaps you're better off figuring out how to make the adapter thread directly to the bottle. That promises to be much more durable and...

In a gun like UZI or MP5 where you don't lock open on empty time durring the race can be saved by loading 3 rnds of tracer first in the magazine, when you see the tracer stop shooting change magazines without loosing time to operate the cocking piece. Tracers set fire to brush and grass and reveal ...

There is one valid reason for the buffers though--at least on home-builds. Apparently the bolt carriers on some home-built AK's tend to derail at the rear of the receiver during firing due to certain tolerance issues. A buffer prevents the bolt carrier from traveling far enough rearward for that to ...

Well, if you figure that like a firearm barrel, most of the meaningful work is going to be done early on, that last 1/8" isn't going to do much of anything one way or another. With some stamped designs, it might actually be less work to have what appears to be a crowned muzzle, since all the ba...

Didn't BATFE claim that suppressors were also flash hiders during the AWB? If they're still holding to that, a CX4 would still violate 922(r) no matter what mounting system is used.

If the threading is too long, it might end up exposed in the suppressor, depending on the model. The extra threading won't help support the suppressor unless the suppressor is threaded to an equal depth.

Then there's the problem with spending half an hour threading the suppressor onto the barrel.
