Re: last 223 form-1 can
Thanks for the clarification. I'm sure the weld is strong enough, and it is a good way to not add extra weight to the can.

Re: last 223 form-1 can
Looks very Nice! I was thinking the same idea for the rear end on my next suppressor. When you say there are no spacers and the cones are welded in place, is there space between he cones? Are you concerned at all that they could come loose at all? Not sure if I missed it, what did it end up weighing?

Re: OAL length different than F1...
I just received an email from Gary Schaible from 'ask the experts' and he said I just need to mail a letter to the NFA branch (address on the F1) and notify them of the change in configuration.

Re: OAL length different than F1...
My intent was to make a suppressor that would thread onto and then be pinned and welded to my 8.5" barrel. Not an integral in the true sense of the word, but a permanent part of the barrel negating the need for an SBR stamp. I have since filed another F1 for the SBR stamp with intent to make a ...

OAL length different than F1...
My F1 shows an OAL of 18" due to my original idea of making a can and pinning and welding to my 8.5" blk barrel. That idea ended up being beyond my capabilities, so I figured to do a 'solvent trap' can and just build baffles for it. It wi end up being around 6" OAL. Do I need to infor...

Good to hear. I may have missed it, but why kind of design did you end up going with? Monocore, Ks, Cones?
Looking forward to another first time builders pics!

Drilling Mouse Holes
OK, still a first time F1 builder and still a newbie at the lathe. I have received some great advice both here on the board and in back channel communications with several members here. It has all been highly appreciated. I have my first of three K baffles done except for the mouse holes. I do not h...

Re: Liberty mystic+ruger 77/357 = 300 black killer
What about using Powder Coated cast lead? I have shot a few through my Isis-9 and haven't noticed any leading. On a similar note, here is my suppressed .357; its more for fun than for serious use, but still pretty cool! http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h24/Slow_Hand23/F49E7D18-24B1-4753-8AFA-543910...

No personal experience, other than with TM in general. Shoot Brooks an email, and he will get back with you in short order. Ive received emails from him on Sundays, and at all ties of the day/night. Good dudes to deal with.

Re: Sb15 on AOW
I thought about doing the same thing. Here in IN, we can have AOW's, but not SBS' I thought about F1'ing a PG shotgun myself, and adding an arm brace. I figured it's worth the extra $195 to F1 it vs buying a much more expensive AOW and having it in about a month, vs 4-5. The future of the braces see...

I don't see why not. basically you are looking at building a 300 BLK version of the Tac Sol SB-X

Any noticeable benefit/detriment to this idea?

Re: After corrections are made to form 4, how long after till stamp comes?
I had an issue with an SBR Uzi I bought from a newer dealer. He screwed up some paperwork and I wasn't experienced enough to catch it, so it got bumped back. He got the stamp back in about two weeks from mailing the corrected forms back in. I want to say it was approved in a week from when we mailed...

Re: Threading question
I appreciate the advice. As to the lathe, it had been in the same family for about 30 years and had done little to no thread cutting by them. Not sure about the previous 50+ years, but it does cut fairly smoothly. One thing I forgot to mention, my plan for the suppressor is to be built to go on an 8...

Threading question
OK, please be kind, newbie to F1's and a new lathe owner. I am playing with my new lathe (30's vintage Atlas 918) and am getting decent at turning shapes. I have not cut any threads external or internal as of yet. I have an F1 to make a .30 cal can and was planning on it being a welded cone style. M...

Sweet AC! I just bought one myself, its the 18.5" barrel blued with a wood stock. Mine has a Ciener conversion and came with an entire extra parts kit. I hope they are pretty reliable. Are they threaded under the flash hider? They are threaded, but it's 9/16" by ? I have a few thread adap...

Re: New MG
I have had an AC556 for about eight years now. It has been a great gun. Lots of fun to shoot, super reliable, and reasonably accurate. Mine is the AC556K version, blued with a factory folder. I have changed it up a bit since getting it, modifying an ATI folding stock to fit, and adding an Ulimak rai...

I recieved my form 1 last week and am planning on getting a start on my Freeze Plug can soon. When do I need to mark it with my info to be legal? That's exactly what Brooks at Thompson Machine said he does with his pistol cans. I've not tried it but I figure of the manufacturer does it; it should be ok!

Re: Anybody done a form 1 using the new online eforms servic
I efiled March 16th and was disapproved last week due to having letters in the caliber section. Refiled and got a new control number a few days later. Emailed the old and new numbers to Dana Pickles (the examiner who disapproved me) and was approved in less than two hours. So, total was about three ...
