Re: She's for sale

One thing to note...

You can transfer directly to an out of state FFL. No need to do the form 4 to your in state dealer. It'll save the time of the form 3 out of state transfer, so it'll be a little faster.

Re: 10/22 SBR can.. Warlock 2?

I hate dealing with aluminum baffles.
Stainless all the way so I can pin tumble them clean, easy peasy.
As good as the warlock is, I'd pick the specter II all day long over it.

Re: Salvo and SBS use

With 2 3/4" shells the Salvo is rated down to a 10" barrel. With 3" shells the Salvo is rated down to a 16" barrel. No 3 1/2" shells. Guess that rules out putting a Salvo on my Serbu :( Well, just shoot mini shells :) Man, that would be a hoot! Mini-shells, Serbu, Salvo.

Re: Waiting on my first suppressor, trying to decide on host

The best, cheapest, most reliable, most long lasting 22lr pistol host would be the ruger 22/45 or mark 3. Personally, I'd get the factory threaded barrel version and call it a day. While the super short ruger looks neat, I'd still get the factory threaded version as it will be more accurate. I'd be ...

Always go factory if possible. If not possible... For glock, I usually go lone wolf because the price is really hard to beat. For most other barrels, I go storm lake. For match barrels, I like barsto All of the above, depends on the host though. There are a lot of great barrels out there from KKM, J...

Re: Socom 556 acceptable sound reduction?

I'm in the same boat, I feel the SF is built better even if it may be slightly louder but I don't have any first hand experience with the SOCOM556-RC. Built better than what? I certainly wouldn't say it's built better than the M42K or SR5. Maybe a better mounting system than the M42K, but the M42K ...

Re: 9mm 147g RN FMJ subsonic load/ powder issue

Here is my load for Berry's 147gr RN 9mm using WW231 powder: 3.8gr WW231 (I tested up to 4gr, but I'd recommend the lowest functional weight for this powder and bullet) OAL 1.16 (Also used 1.155) Crimp (at case mouth) .378 Watch out for the plate shaving off or crumpling at the case mouth (You need ...

Re: 9mm 147g RN FMJ subsonic load/ powder issue

For 231, I use 3.8-3.9 grains for all jacketed and plated 147gr 9mm loads. It cycles everything I shoot (Glock 17, 19, 26, 34, STI 2011 9mm, Sig P229, 9mm AR15 SBR 5.5" barrel, etc) You should be able to use the OAL for most hollow point bullets. I'll double check my OAL for my flat nose loads ...

Re: 45Osprey Disappointment, Am I expecting too much?

I run the Wilson flat spring in my Kimber 4" Pro Carry II.
It works well. IIRC it's a ISMI Glock 17 spring or something like that. You can google it (for when you need to replace it).

Re: 45Osprey Disappointment, Am I expecting too much?

If you want to delay the action a bit, rather than (or even in addition to) a stiffer recoil spring, you should get a firing pin stop with a smaller radius. This will keep the action locked a little bit longer and it will take more force to cock the hammer. The factory slide stop on the Kimber is a ...

Re: Cleaning my aluminum baffles - how?

The dip is some nasty stuff. I'd avoid it. Yes, you can dip a stainless baffle, but you are left with a hazardous chemical in the end that you have to keep around and dispose of properly. For that stainless baffle I'd just do what you do to the aluminum baffles. Otherwise, you could use ultrasound o...

Pretty much soda blasting or brass brush.

I will never own another centerfire pistol or rimfire silencer with aluminum baffles.

Thanks Chris, What do you think of the Kimbers? I see they have one that comes threaded and around 1k. I own two Kimbers (Pro Carry II and a Super Match) and have worked on several other ones. Kimbers are OK. I don't have anything against them other than to say the following... The do not really ha...

Re: Lowest bore to hand axis in 45 pistol....Glock?

If you need a threaded barrel, the best option in that price range are the Sig 1911's (TacOps TB and Scorpion TB) It, however, has the series 80 firing pin block and an external extractor. However, the series 80 parts really aren't a big deal and their external extractor design is good and works fin...

I went with a TROS 5/8" to 3 lug adapter and the Evo TRIAD 3lug when I shot 300BLK.
It worked just fine. Remember though, subsonic only!!!

I also had it jail broken by SRI and he did a great job!

The 1911, with a good beaver tail and an undercut trigger guard is a very low bore axis to the hand. HK's and Sig's are the highest (Well, HiPoint would be THE highest lol) IMHO. The Glocks are good. Also check out the M&P's. They have a high beaver tail and a low slide. They tend to feel even l...

Re: New best pistol is - PPQ 9mm.

Life was good when I had just an AR15, 10-22, and Glock 19. To think it took 25 years for a pistol to be made that could beat it is amazing. Very true. The 19 is hard to beat. With each new model that started trying to compete with the Glock 19, they always (for me) fell short. The M&P was eith...
