Are you welding it? Try each and find out. The best spacing for a semi auto may not be the best for a bolt gun.

Re: .25 ACP can

There is no reason that I can think of that would prevent you from firing your .25 through a .22 can, as long as you over-bore it a few thousandths There's an ATF document specifically calling this out as making a new silencer. It would be a felony unless you did another form 1 on this existing sil...

Re: Questions about drilling titanium and SS

Let the bit cool between parts. Not that this is bad advice, it isn't conducive to proper machining. Your chips should be taking away the vast majority of heat. So much so that your tool bits shouldn't be getting "hot". You should be able to touch a drill/tool bit, immediately after the c...

Re: Questions about drilling titanium and SS

Like others have said, any drill bit will work -- even dry. Better bits just last longer and can do work faster. The key is that your bits are sharp. If you dont know how to sharpen them by hand, buy a drill doctor. Theres no need to cut 1/16" at a time for such a thin part. 200-400 rpm will wo...

The "D" in "DHC" stands for double/dual.

Buy one now and apply to build one now. You'll get your form 1 back before your form 4.

Re: Recommended Tooling

HSS is fine for titanium and 17-4, but not all HSS is equal. Cobalt HSS is far superior. Cheap HSS will work but will require frequent sharpening. As mentioned, reaming is unnecessary. Using a drill press, you wont get perfectly centered holes, and therefore you need to make the holes a little bighe...

Re: Greetings and Tax Return Question

Taxed marginally at rougly 30%, a $200 deduction brings $60 to your refund. This assumes that you're itemizing your deductions instead of taking the standard $12,000.

Individuals and trusts may not deduct our stamps though.
