Re: RECOIL Reduction WHEN Suppressed

TBAC Ultra is what I would recommend. I have had my right shoulder bi-cep relocated because of injury and need my neck fused so I need recoil reduction. I bought the TBAC CB9 (right before they released the Ultra) for the brake and great reviews. I am very pleased with it. Something to consider, My...

Re: Price of suppressors IF Hearing Protection Act is passed

does anyone know an approximate timeframe where the HPA will be considered?

also if they use the firearm guidelines that would mean we could make them for yourselves but to sell them you would have to start a 06/02 and get a SOT 2 correct?

Re: how much of a comprimise is a 45 can on a 9mm?

thank you for the great info. wanted to make sure i'm following the law. I had to paper form this suppressor since the site crashed before I could submit it how do you request a change of caliber? if it's alot of hassle i'll likely just keep it 9mm and if/when I can do another i'll just have to wait...

Re: how much of a comprimise is a 45 can on a 9mm?

i'm going to start drawing out my plans for my form 1 and start buying materials in the coming months to have everything ready for when I get my f1's back. i've decided to do a 1.375x8(may do 7") the form is submitted as a 9mm. current plans were to use it on 22lr, 9mm and my 5.56 sbr only for...

Re: 165g 9mm Subsonic Load Data

i'm curious how these sound compared to 147's? is there a noticeable difference? the powder savings is almost enough reason to try them (currently shoot 124's and still awaiting my F1 to clear)

now i'm really jonesin for a GII! I had a lr308 a few years back and it favored 168's as well. with a 16" barrel I found a really good load with 168 a-max's that chrono'd 2600 from the short barrel. the a-max's do a little better on the big end than the SMK's if you handload I can give you what...

Re: Do the Poor Have a Right to Self Defense? Hi-Point?

I owned a hi-point 9mm carbine several years back and aside from the 10 round mags I actually enjoyed the little rifle. aside from the "charging handle" flying off once I never had any issues with it. and it had such a generous throat that I shot 158 gr swc's out of a 9mm case and they wer...

Re: BUG article (back up gun), do you need one?

I don't feel the need to carry a BUG in my AO. I have recently ditched the single stack guns in favor of a service sized pistol and have found a way to carry it comfortably. I also always carry my izula and 1L flashlight. A spare mag depending where were traveling but generally I fell comfortable en...

Re: suppressor length to barrel length relationship

the new gen II dpms .308's have peaked my interest all of the power without the fat. Not to help derail the thread, but I have a GII Hunter and it is fantastic. Has promised to be very accurate and the thing really feels like an AR15. Highly recommended. good to know. I have my eye's set on the rec...

Re: suppressor length to barrel length relationship

I don't have kids... And if I did, I surely wouldn't let them decide what ammo goes with what gun... I also wouldn't hunt anything bigger than a coyote with a 5.56 round. I don't think it's a humane round due to it's weaknesses. It's DESIGNED to wound without killing. A wounded soldier takes 2-3 gu...

Re: suppressor length to barrel length relationship

are 6.8 spc SBR ballistics better than .223? will a 6.8 chamber easily in a .223 and vice versa? don't know much about that cartridge but from what I recall it's supposed to have the most energy from an sbr for the platform, but it requires special mags, and bolts which is a turn off. 7.62x40mm wou...

Re: suppressor length to barrel length relationship

This is why I went 300BLK for my primary SBR (though I own a 10.5" 5.56 also). An 8" 300BLK shooting a 110gr bullet hits MUCH harder than a 10.5" 5.56 shooting a 62gr bullet all the way out past 200 yards. Both are exceptionally accurate (<1.5MOA) at 100 yards. Both running my Silenc...

suppressor length to barrel length relationship

Trying to get some idea's/opinions about the relationship between barrel length and suppressor length. for example a longer barrel has obvious benefits and gains as length increases (more velocity, less unburned powder, less blast) and likewise the longer the suppressor within reason the quieter. no...

nielsen device and form 1 question?

I had a quick question about nielsen devices and form 1 suppressors. one of my F1's I submitted is going to be for 9mm and assuming my lathe will let me build it out of Titanium I plan to use it on a few hosts. (22lr, 9mm, and possibly 5.56) That being said I plan to make a 1.5" blast chamber a...

Re: Form 1 5.56 musings and ideas?

from what i've gathered you can go shorter and let the atf know after the fact but longer is a no go so i'd design it around 6-7" Grade 5 Ti is the ideal but finding tubing in G5 is a no go (expensive as it has to be made from round bar) grade 9 is suitable as the tube if you go a little thicke...

ok good to know. I'm seriously wanting to give titanium a try for my 9mm form 1 when it comes in but my question is say I attempt to try and make my baffles out of titanium and I do not succeed can I cut up the work in progress and switch to aluminum as a baffle never was formed? likewise say I break through the mat...

Re: Booster-less micro cans vs slide weight

I don't think it's going to be that simple. I want/wanted to do the same thing but gave up on the idea and going to just run a booster. I would think you'd have better luck trying to keep your weight further rearward than looking at total weight. the further your weight is from the fulcrum point the...

Re: aluminum or thin chromoly?

Yes you will need flood coolant for Ti. You can make an inexpensive cooling system for under $50. Not elegant but will work. If you search my threads, you will find instructions on how I made mine. Ask Enfield577 about service life of 9mm AL baffles - he makes a lot & can probably give you a go...

When you say erosion, are you concerned about baffle erosion from firing, or corrosion of the tube? both I assume? guess what i'm after is will a 7075 suppressor give me a decent service life on 9mm and 22lr? talking maybe 30-100 rounds a month 9mm and about half that in 22lr. at least a decade of ...

Re: aluminum or thin chromoly?

Your tube needs to be thick enough to thread and still be strong. I can leave the OD larger where threaded like the surefire ryder. I haven't measured it but my plans are to bring the OD to the same height as my sights on my glock (aftermarket but not suppressor height) but will step down after the...
