Re: kinda off topic 9mm question

that just might be the way to go. I used to shoot 158 swc's (which were 162gr lubed and sized) and they were quiet and hit hard from my old hi-point 9mm (pre suppressor days) May have to order up a blank and give it a try with those 200's. I have QL so I can use that to find a starting load. I remem...

Re: kinda off topic 9mm question

I guess if you don't mind a literal rainbow trajectory. You won't get anywhere near 900 FPS without having nuclear chamber pressures. 950 with a 158 gr. is fairly spicy. I think you'd be lucky to see 500 FPS without pressure signs. Remember, it's not just weight increasing resistance, but also bear...

kinda off topic 9mm question

So I was goofing around yesterday at lunch and decided to stuff one of my homemade cast bullets into a 9mm case just for kicks....then I got to playing with QL and was surprised of what I found. This monster 354gr bullet can actually get semi respectable speeds according to QL ~880-950 FT/sec from s...

Re: 30cal Integral Bolt Rifle Build UPDATE 4/25/2019

hmm. how about spinning up a new tube in 7.62x25 tokarev :D both different and more efficient for your purposes. I buy most of my bullets from here. shipping sucks unless you make a worthy order which is what I do a few times a year. http://www.shootersproshop.com/nosler-products/nosler-blemished-2n...

Re: 30cal Integral Bolt Rifle Build UPDATE 4/25/2019

Being a bolt gun and a suppressed one to boot wouldn't you want the fastest and least amount of powder to maximize or better yet minimize the amount of gasses needed to be cooled? Trail boss would fit the bill nicely and also fills up the case pretty well. Red dot is fairly bulky and would also work...

Re: Recore with clipped radial baffles

Nice! looking forward to what the 165 9mm brings. I take it xtreme bullets? been wanting to try them myself.

Have you tried K's before? That's my plan on my 9mm can as I don't have the tooling to cut radials. and I want to do a scratch build.

Re: 45 Cal Suppressor Design Review

some very cool designs. on the last design I would think it would work better if you went back to the spacer that sealed the vanes on the blast baffle then have that spacer ported in an angled helix pattern like ECCO's muzzle brake shown a few posts up. otherwise your blast chamber volume would be m...

Re: Muzzle loading integral suppressor

I know of the process but question if its correct or legal in this case.Way to many agents make field statements that do not reflect current law.Based upon this statement every suppressor ever built would need to be submitted first and approved.Exact copies of pre approved designs would to.Design a...

Re: Muzzle loading integral suppressor

Last time I spoke with the ATF on interpreted(a few months ago) I was told they would no longer make a determination based off plans, drawings or even comparable pre-existing approved products. I was told that I would have to build the item in question and send the sample to their tech branch and if...

I take it you probably ported the barrel for the rear chamber like you discussed in your other thread?

Re: Starting a new can, titanium

looks good to me. I've never played with it either but when I was thinking of trying it most mentioned deep and heavy cuts to keep the heat in the chip rather or it could burnish/gall and harden. You don't have to take heavy cuts if you use fresh, sharp carbide tooling. As I've mentioned before in ...

Re: Tube thickness questions

Use stainless for the tube and internals then weld it up. Or do a tubeless design. You could go thinner by using stainless if weight is a issue. There is a thread here somewhere of a members first build if I am not mistaken, he used 4130 for the tube and welded it. It has survived many years and he...

Re: Tube thickness questions

Would someone check my math for me please? Ok so I have some scrap material I want to practice something on and I want to check my math first. I have some 1.5x.065 4130 and based off ECCO's advice I plan to run a tube thickness of .045" so if I dialed in the tube off the OD then bored the ID t...

The problem is we are not making much money because of the presence of the middlemen. Actually the final buyer gets those from middleman A who gets these from middleman B. B is my client. :? Then setup a website and manage/sell your product direct if you know what you have. sounds like a simple sol...

I have been always looking for the final distributor of these, but never found. My partner owns a CNC machining workshop. I helped to turn the designs into CAD drawings and had them machined. Why would you care if you made your money? something smells a little fishy. Probing for problems

Re: I need help with a form 1 question on the blast chamber

It is just the mounting style I want to use. No special reason. It would be nice just to make a can from scratch. But, (A) I am not a machinist, (B) I don't have any machinist tools, and (C) kids cost too damn much to go buy the tools. I will hopefully have a nice fun workshop in 8 years. My younge...

Re: I need help with a form 1 question on the blast chamber

I think you'll find that most of us here build our own. The maglight (b,c,d) tubes aren't very common. the 24 tpi options from diversified machine and the like are a better suited to most builds. I could be wrong but the main reason you won't see direct thread adapters like that here is why not run ...

Re: 1st suppressor build.. Advise on tolerances. .22lr pistol

YA, i may thin out the outer tube just to shave some weight. I was planning a 1" blast chamber. Is that ok? should i shrink or enlarge that? 603SS is the same a 17-4PH. The mill i work at makes it so i kind of have an unlimited supply. 630SS maybe? if you have an unlimited supply you can kick ...
