Re: Have you read "Patriots", by James Wesley, Rawles?

G'Day Fella's, Just started reading the second chapter of Patriots. It's a bit of an eye opener so far but when you think about it, it really is a distinct possibility! Just look at the bad s--t that goes on, in western society now. Read both of JWR's other books and have to admit that I don't reall...

Re: Would abrasive blasting of baffles be benificial?

G'Day Fella's, Thanks for your reply's, much appreciated! I'll make up two centerfire units and see if there is any noticeable difference, when the baffles of one unit is Blasted with Garnet? I use this same abrasive media, to blast my Cans etc with, prior to applying Cerakote to them. Avagreatweeke...

Would abrasive blasting of baffles be benificial?

G'Day Fella's,

Just had a thought, would sand blasting a suppressors baffles, prior to assembly give them some additional surface area and help to make the suppressor work better?

Re: POI shift.......am I wrong?

G'Day Fella's, Lofty, in my experience (with the centerfire rifle suppressors that I manufacture), the change in POI is Low (primarily) and slightly Left of center. With my .22LR rifle suppressors, there is no change in POI! I just finished my first Pistol Can today (to suit a .40 Cal, Jericho 941)....

Re: Drilling the center hole in a Monocore

G'Day Fella's, The correct procedure to drill any hole in a lathe, is to initially set up the material/Metal running true. Then Face Off the end of the material/metal with the lathe cutting tool. Then use a Center Drill to confirm the starting point of the hole to be drilled. Then drill a Pilot Hole...

Re: What is a standard thread for 9mm SMG cans?

G'Day Fella's,

I recently made a Can for a 9mm UZI.
The mount replaced the barrel retaining nut on the firearm and it was threaded M28 x 1mm (Metric)!

Hope this helps

Re: Recoil Booster: Stand-Alone Nielsen Device

G'Day Lava Red, Thank you for your help on this, much appreciated. I currently have a mates Glock 17 A (the "A" stands for Australia, which means it has a longer than normal barrel (now 121mm), to comply with the laws) in my safe. I need to get the thumbs up from Dave and I will then cut a...

Re: Recoil Booster: Stand-Alone Nielsen Device

G'Day Fella's, On the back of the success of my centerfire rifle suppressor design, I have had some requests for the same but for 9mm and .40 S&W semi-auto handguns. Lava Red, would the spring that you suggest, 2" Long x 1" OD x 0.100" Wire Diameter (for a Nielsen Device/Booster),...

Acoustic Meters

G'Day Fella's Whilst I have a cheap but functional electronic acoustic meter, what is the brand name and model of the unit you see being utilised by the big boys (and also in all the U-Tube etc footage on the subject), and where is the best place to purchase them? Your input into this would be great...

Re: Look what LavaRed got today:

Lava Red, you need to add a 1911 in .45ACP to that list of things to get!
Rat guns are nice for playing with but you need a real gun to do the job correctly!!!

Just my biased opinion!

Re: Sheet Metal Baffle Info Required

G'Day Wicked, Thank you for your response. It would appear that my suppressor design is different from other currently available units? This being the case, I would prefer not to go into to much detail on this! I would like to ensure that my can design is good for a mag dump or two on a M4 in .223Re...

Sheet Metal Baffle Info Required

G'Day Fella's, Just an inquiry regarding Centerfire Rifle Silencer Baffles, formed from Stainless Steel sheet metal. Q1= What grade Stainless would you recommend (304L, 316)? Q2= What thickness sheet metal would you recommend for the secondary baffles (1.2mm (0.047") or 1.6mm (0.062"))? Q3...

Tyris, the 63hz and 1 to 4 kHz weren't supposed to be parameters just generalizations for the Low and High End frequencies.

Db Reduction Figures

G'Day Fella's, You often hear of figures quoted that "ABC brand Silencers" have a reduction of 25 Db and or that "XYZ brand Silencers" have a reduction of 30Db. This may be a Dumb Question but at what level are these figures taken, the Low End (63Hz) or the High End (1 to 4Khz) o...

G'Day Fella's Is there a Standard in place that is recognized word wide, for the testing of suppressors? G'Day Fella's Thank you for you input into this subject. I was just wondering why both Capt. Link. and Rob Silvers have suggested that I use 416 S/steel over 316 S/steel? I would have thought that 316 would have been far more robust and appropriate for this application? Machining the primary blast b...
