Re: An AK-47 Underwater

Neat vids! Thanks for sharing that. Science is some badass s--t if you can understand it. It would take me more than 2 10 minute videos to fully understand what all is going on there though. I shoulda been something other than a business major.....that looks fun!

Re: Wait time when the form 4 is awaiting final aproval?

You should get the call from your dealer any day now. When one or two of mine hit that status I had a call from the dealer within 10 - 14 days. Some were waiting the signature from the examiner at different dates and the dealer still got 5 approved form 4's all on the same day even though they were...

Re: Coyote hunt with a suppressor?

Here's one I took a couple of weeks ago with the worst case of mange I have ever seen in 20 years of calling coyotes: Savage Model 11 in 204 Ruger suppressed with GEMTECH TREK titanium suppressor. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c307/ATCDoctor/2013-06-17/002_zps492e470c.jpg The side your looking ...

Re: Best 300 BLK SBR barrel length? 8", 9" , 10"?

Thanks for the info!

I'm new to this but I want to get this straight......I can buy a 9" 300 BLK upper with the click of a mouse but before I put it on my Daniel Defense lower I fill out the Form 4 for an SBR? OR do I have to do the Form 4 before I purchase the item from Bownells?

Thanks

Re: Best 300 BLK SBR barrel length? 8", 9" , 10"?

300 BLK has complete powder burn in a 9" barrel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Xur1yshd5U Don't know about the 8.2" length though. And I prefer whole numbers. What's up with fractional lengths anyway?? Besides, I'll stick with the guys who actually developed and standardized the ammo it...

Re: Saker first impressions and pictures

Excellent photos. Thanks for posting those! Yep.....they make me wanna buy more cans, but I gotta stop. 13 in 2 years is too damn many for me to justify getting any more in the near future. The only thing that I can think of to justify buying more is so I don't have an unlucky number of silencers. ...

Re: Is the Spectre II quieter than the Warlock II?

I love my Spectre II's. Was comparing the Spectre II on a GSG-1911-22 to a Kodiak TL on a Walther P22 and the GSG w/ Spectre II was noticeably quieter than the P22. I haven't shot either enough to have to clean them yet but break both down often just to check out the guts and the Spectre II comes ap...

Oh hell, as I like to say "F&$# 'em if they can't take a joke" It's your stuff.....why should they whine about what you do with it. I'm sure some people would cringe to see the condition of some of my firearms......I buy most of my guns as tools. They get used, they get rust spots from...

Re: Airline Travel with Suppressor

When coming back from alaska this past Janurary from a duck hunt I accidently left a choke tube for my shotgun in my carry on and came really close to having to go through some major hell to keep me out of trouble. The guy that screened my bag asked me if I had anything sharp in my carry bag and I s...

Re: Pistol versus rifle: why such a difference?

OK Capt. Link, I think the ambient temperature when I shot the video was around 19°C, and when shooting the pistol is was around 24°C. I follow your train of thought. Over here, we can get .22 "Long Z" rounds, the Z standing for Zimmer, since apparently they used to use them for indoor sh...

Re: 9mm Octane 2 HD, is 147 quieter than 115?

Hello all Picked up the Octane 2 HD this week after almost 8 months. Put on a G23 with Lone Wolf 9mm conversion bbl. Only had white box 115 to test, its quite a bit louder than I hoped. Will subsonic 147 grain be noticeably "less noisy"? I handload, anyone know of a particular powder that...

Re: Pistol versus rifle: why such a difference?

I think if it was me, since suppressors are unregulated there, I would probably spend some time looking at the threads here about form 1 cans, and pick one that I liked, and have a local machinist make up either a new core for one of the other cans, or a whole new suppressor. That's a brilliant ide...

Re: Suppose we wanted to experiment...

I would think you would have to fill out and send off a Form 1 and pay your tax. Then you could put the washers in your can. I'm sure Bender will chime in and tell you exactly what has to be done though. I would think that what you want to do would be considered making your own silencer and would re...

Re: Pistol versus rifle: why such a difference?

Well, OJB4, we can in theory, although the vast majority of US online gun sites don't ship overseas, but then there's the small matter of a $200 export licence... The US brands don't make it over here, presumably for that reason. I'd love to get my hands on a Sparrow, from what I've seen (and not h...

Way to go NC......I live in suck MD you know the commie state or CA east! OUCH.....that hurts. Louisiana is nice, but they are just always last to approve little things like allowing us to hunt with them. They JUST allowed us to use silencers on hogs and nutria. Hopefully they will allow us to hunt...

I watched the video of you smoking that nutria and agree that your silenced rifle shouldn't be that loud. I don't know if y'all can buy silencers from here, but if there's a way then I would recommend it highly. My pistols with supersonic ammo don't sound quite that loud. Keep smokin' those rats! Yo...

Re: Pistol versus rifle: why such a difference?

You've got me......My Savage bolt action 22 is by far quieter than my Walther P22. In fact it's the same as dry firing it until the bullet impacts which is the only thing I really hear.....not that my hearing is the best by any means. That's what I don't quite understand about this silencer stuff. ...

I really like SWR and Liberty (both have great customer service....the edge going to Liberty on this one but prolly because they are smaller). My Spectre II was so convenient in regards to cleaning that I ordered a Octane 9 HD and 45. Like the Octane 9 so far but still have to go out and compare it...

Re: New guy from Missouri

I LOVE my FNX-45 tactical with Liberty Miranda. Sounds great, shoots great. I didn't research it when buying so I know nothing about some of them having trouble with the trigger mechanism though. I'll read up on it so I can know what to look for or what I'm up against. However, as of now it's great ...
