Re: Lathe question: face grooving toolbit?

A spade type tool bit works if you do not push it hard. Ball endmills clamped in a tool holder can also work.
Ti is abrasive and generates heat. Don't push hard and take you time and you can carve it out.

Depends on your shooting skills. Me, my boy, and my neighbor all shoot pistols at those ranges and most times better than those rifle groups posted. ( we do shoot daily though) Hell, with rifle they better damn we'll be touching if rested and on 3" -4" swingers un rested. if you...

Handguns are great.....at handgun ranges and most people get it. For longer distance a rifle platform is a better launcher , even in .45. http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w560/jkh62/45%20Enfield/NCM_0090_zpsvl3cyws7.jpg http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w560/jkh62/45%20Enfield/NCM_0089_zpsvblgl...

Had my form 1 trust kicked back for not including the full name.

Joe Blow NFA Trust / incorrect.
Joe Blow NFA Trust Revocable Living Trust / correct.

I had to resubmit and pay the tax again.
The refund took 2 months.

Re: HELP turning titanium. Locking up.

As others have said I would wager that your problem lies with your steady rest. I just spun my titanium tube in my steady rest without any issues. I did indicate the tube end in within .001" run-out then adjusted my steady rest pads to make light contact with the tube and double checked the run...

Home stretch for my titanium build. Muzzle coupling will be pressed into the titanium tube then plug welded and circumference welded full diameter. Measuring the stack and adjusting the length of my blast baffle spacer and threaded end cap thickness. Some of my best ideas and layout work happen here...

Re: jesse james new can, 10db quieter than the best?

I sent JJFU a message last week and told him if they really do meter 78db on an AR with super sonics I would buy 100 of them for his price of $4500 ea. I got no reply. He was tied up. His suppressor likely fell off the desk and is stuck between his time travel machine and the other machine that tur...

The Aero-Sonic suppressor looks like a vibrator for a horse. I look forward to seeing some real lab metered numbers of a side by side firing session with know performance commercial cans. As others have said his claimed numbers are lower than the action noise of the host weapon. Liberty Suppressors...

Re: 3AL 2.5V tube wall for a .30cal build

Thanks cal50! Definitely going to spring for the thicker tube. Curious what inserts/grade you used to turn your gr5 baffles? What's that weigh in? That's pretty much the way I'm planning to go. I've gotta look at your build, looks awesome! I used some CNMG-432 SiNi coated inserts for chewing down s...

Re: 3AL 2.5V tube wall for a .30cal build

I am wrapping up a .30 caliber build and I used .070 / grade 9 Ti tube and grade 5 for the baffles. The lure of the cheaper tin walled tubing is tempting but spring for the thicker tube. http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w560/jkh62/titanium%20308%20can/NCM_0149_zpsfyxh8fex.jpg http://i1329.photobu...

Re: Coaxial / reflex .22 rifle suppressor designs.

Ported barrels & .22's are a perfect marriage.
I like the coax / reflex design that slips over the barrel to reduce the OAL using a standard length barrel.

I am thinking of registering another tube before any trust changes and trying to figure out what to build before filing.
