Re: AAC 762SDN6 & 300 WM
I'm the uniformed newbee here...... I assume that this same can would probably work with the old standby 30/06 then if what you're saying is true.... But I try not to assume anything since i know diddley squat about silencers. We all know what ASSuming does...  But I think I remember h...

Re: Suggest a .30 suppressor.
Badfinger, I have to admit to two distinct 'benchmarks' in my mindset: 1) I'm a Scout Rifle afficionado, and see great advantages to trying to meet LTC Cooper's 'Scout Criteria'... (weight typically being the hardest one to hit!) 2) I did 5 years behind a firearms counter in a major outdoor retailer...

Re: AAC 762SDN6 & 300 WM
Obviously best to call the guys at AAC, but I think I recall hearing that the 762-SDN-6 is good on .300WM if the barrel is at least 24"...
But don't bet your can on it. I'd call the guys in Lawrenceville and see what they say.

Re: All Titanium can for .223
After a suppressor shoot here in NC a couple of weeks ago, I have a different mindset for centerfire cans. I heard all different kinds of cans; M4-1000, Omni, M4-2k, Lane Scorpion, 762-SDN-6, etc. To the ear, they really didn't sound much different, on similar hosts. The M4-2k probably meters better...

Thanks! Great meeting you at the NRA show...completely forgot to ask in person. Kinda busy there, and I appreciate the time you took with me!

Re: Suggest a .30 suppressor.
dtom29, I would you please stop making these ridiculous comments about weight! Have you ever used these suppressors? Could you tell the difference between them in a blind test? I have used some of them and weight isn't an issue unless maybe you're making a 50 mile march. I'm concerned that you may ...

As a general rule, monocores are louder. (I know, I know...I'm going to get flamed like crazy for that...but its true. Especially regarding FRP) They also tend to be heavier. 60* clipped cones are popular for a reason. The last diagram you posted shows an 'M' style baffle...thinking purely in work o...

Tapco might not be the best stuff for ARs, but I love the Tapco stock I have for one of my 10/22s...it collapses down far enough that my 7yo son can use it, and extends far enough out that I can, too. For about $55, IIRC. Plus, if you have an issue, they're pretty damn responsive. I cracked the piec...

In preparation of getting my F1 back, what would type III anodizing cost for a .22 can, say, similar in size to your Dagger...baffles and tube in 7075...and how fast is the turnaround usually? Since we buy so much Al, SS and Ti we have been throwing around the idea of offering different lengths up to the silencersmiths on here to hopefully help them save some $$$ and use good materials! Re: Can I use AAC Cyclone 308 Suppressor with other calibers
Well, if one of us says 'yes' and you blow your can up, you'll say its our fault. Instead of 'doing the leg work' yourself, it seems like you want someone else to 'take the blame'. The only cartridge you've listed that might be an issue, IMHO, is the 7mm Mag; the .270, .30-06, and .243 are all very ...

These objections could be applied whole cloth to bendersquint and SRI who has been around for years. You have a better chance of getting out of Gitmo than seeing any pictures of his stuff, yet you trash a brand new company? OK, I'll bite. Use the search feature here (admittedly, its a bit hard to sift through all the responses, but it is what it is) and scroll through the completed builds thread; Also, check out Dr. K's .30cal build. Look at the baffle pics thread, and Google search 'suppressor baffles'. You get out wh...

Re: Alpha Dog Silencers
The thing you won't find us doing is quoting decibel reduction numbers as they are too dependant on combo of host weapon, ammo type, weather conditions, etc. This is why you see folks using the established Mil Std for sound pressure reduction; it is a standard that is easily repeatable. The other t...

Also dissagree that 99% of people not noticing the difference in good barrel or trigger. Children can tell the difference and have show better results in my experience gun per gun. Re: Suggest a .30 suppressor.
Weight...durability...accuracy. 3 key things you mentioned...but not necessarily that easy to get together. Durability? 762-SDN-6, Saker, Specwar... Weight? Any of the myriad Ti offerings, or perhaps SilencerCo's Harvester. Accuracy? Whole different animal, there. If you're looking for a sub-MOA tac...

Re: What's the Best Barrel for 10/22 accuracy?
Remember, if you're building a 'race gun' version of a 10/22, its going to be VERY ammo sensitive and fickle...just like a race car. If you're wanting to pop squirrels and possums and plink, you're going to want a chamber better suited to bulk pack ammo, which is going to hurt accuracy. Biggest help...

Good point and I agree with you about not spending a lot of money in the beginning as I don't really know what I want until I get more experienced. Re: What can cause a POI shift when using a suppressor?
The gun is a Ruger 10/22 Tactical with a 16.5" barrel and it comes threaded from the factory and has an A2 flash hider on it. I have no idea if mine is the only one like this but this may be something to pay attention to for those that either have one or or thinking about one as a host gun. Th...
