Re: Barrel threading question

Thats stuff is a monster. Make sure you test fit all the parts before you apply it. We use a .003-.005 slip fit. Assemble and thread it second for bore alignment.

Re: Barrel threading question

Instead of welding it you could use 680 locktite. We use that for placing wear sleeves on parts. You need high heat to remove it or just machine the sleeve off.

Welcome! 1. Lenght.....Anywhere between 5-7 inches, I went .065, and 1inch is about the "standard" 2. 20 tpi or more depending on wall thickness....thinner walls require shallower threads. 3. K's 4. .250 is your standard as long as your bore is true......I went .285 for some safe room. 5. ...

Re: How thin can you go?

It would be a 2 point mount so additional stress would be supported by the mount 3 inches down the tube.

How thin can you go?

I see alot of holes drill/milled into thread mounts to save weight. My question is if you would turn a groove in between the inner (barrel) threads and the outer (tube) threads how thin can the resulting web be and still be safe/strong? Lets use a 304ss can 1.875odx10l .065 wall threaded 40tpi as an...

If I fire it dry every 200-300 rds. If I fire it wet, as soon as I get home.
I believe the better care you take of most things you own the better care they will take of you.
