Me too. Not trying to be a dick, but I'm going to be shocked if they meter well.
I do have to say I'm surprised there aren't any freeze plugs apparent in their pics. Maybe they'll actually start turning out real suppressors.

$40, but my C3 is a screwup. Nice enough guy, and it's probably his employees since he has a terminal disease.
But you get what you pay for there.

Re: What is on the end of the silencer that killed Bin Laden
In the book "No Easy Day" , one of the picture inserts show a 416 layed out with an MP7 and M79. The silencer on the 416 also shows something on the endcap, but looks more like cloth instead of a hard cap. The can on the MP7 has nothing. Can't really tell for sure; maybe my eyes are decei...

Re: mock up of suppressor
So 20x102 and 30x173mm suppressors are legal because they are for Destructive Device instead of "firearm?"" Oh I am quite sure they are, I was just pointing out how absurd these laws are. GHEN I don't have the complete current text in front of me. I imagine that Firearm is described ...

Re: What is on the end of the silencer that killed Bin Laden
The only other explanation that makes sense to me is whatever mensa candidate handled the equipment to store it and/or set it up for the photograph found a scope cap loose in the drag bag and said to himself "self ... this little flippy thing fits right on the end of this big barrel thing so t...

Re: What is on the end of the silencer that killed Bin Laden
Definitely looks like a scope flip cap. If I were to venture a guess I'm thinking maybe Navy guys want to make an effort to avoid casual water accumulating in the suppressor during amphibious deployment since it doesn't compress very well. Except they were operating on (really dry) land & being...

No real reason to do that, but if that is the reason, why not just tape? That cap will turn to goo in one magazine.DoctorSolo wrote:Perhaps to keep shmutz/debris out of the can and prevent baffle strikes when you are bush whackin'?

Re: What is on the end of the silencer that killed Bin Laden
Yeah, it does look like a scope cap. But if it is and it wasn't stuck on by a marketing retard, why is it there?
Weird.
Guess I'm going to have to find a nice & melty scope cap for my SDN-6 so I can be like DEVGRU.

The rifle that killed Bin Laden, with an AAC suppressor that has something weird on the end of it. What is it?

Re: Brakes on the end of suppressors
I believe brakes on large caliber cans definitely have merit. Big cartridges produce a lot of recoil, and shooting a light rifle with a good can will produce plenty of recoil. Suppressors already do a pretty damn good job of recoil mitigation on higher power cartridges. I'm not sold in the slightes...

Re: Anyone have pics of the internals of a Soviet PB5 suppre
Doubloon, yeah, that's it. Hmm. Yeah, doesn't look like much is going on in there. I wonder why the weird pinch taper & lip at the muzzle? I wonder if the lip is supposed to work like a slant brake? Also, no surprise with the Red Jacket version. Damn those guys are inept. They can't even properl...

They're so weird looking externally, I'm wondering what the reason is for their shape.
Are the internals as strange?

Said I didn't include two copies. I'm positive I did, but regardless, I put one in the mail along with a copy of their letter & sent it back right away. How long should I expect to wait for the stamp now? Should I have called, too?
BTW: Was 9 months until the problem status letter.

Re: Barrel Length Supressor
I ordered one of these awhile ago, closest you'll get to that and it has a custom carrier for the short buffer tube. If you wanted it for a .22, nevermind. If not, it's the closest thing to a Honey Badger stock on the market right now. http://www.theammosource.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&am...

Holy crap, that is really ugly, and the baffle design looks like something from a 1950's crap silencer design manual with a bunch of extra wrongs added to make it even louder.

I'm looking at the Element of course, and I was looking at the Sparrow until I noticed it's out of stock at Silencer Shop. Re: Interesting ad in Guns and Ammo..
Look at the one on youtube again. It is machined with a plate that covers the the entire back of the filter. Not the same thing at all.
This one = 6 big holes pointed back at your face.
One you are talking about, all holes covered making a seal.

Re: Interesting ad in Guns and Ammo..
Since that doesn't cover the rear holes in the filter, I don't think it would work & would probably blast a crapload of hot gas back at your face if you tried to shoot it. Seems like that one is what it says it is. Which isn't a bad idea, but I've been using an old tupperware container with a x ...

Re: Prodigy or Quest
I have two Quest cans, they are well made & work pretty well. They are quiet enough, but not in AAC league. I paid a little over $200 a piece for them new, and they are definitely worth that. Still quiet enough for most people. I do always use a little lithium grease in them on pistols. The FRP ...
