Re: Illinois lawmakers pondering gun ban in defiance of vote

This is obviously a testing phase. Happens all of the time in Illinois. The "administration" is learning how to effectively disarm the majority by getting their feet wet in their own backyard before they jump in the deep end on the national stage. I also believe they are calculating a domi...

The worst part is that it seems like a whole generation of uninformed gun owners take this at face value.

I couldn't have summed it up any better. I actually restrained myself due to the sensitive nature of the topic.

Re: Do not conceed before the fight has really started

I can't remember where I heard this from, but it's not my thought...

"The Republican Party has become the New Democrats, and Democrats have become the Socialist Party".

Therefore, we have become unrepresented.

Re: Why the associations are not yet mobilizing their member

I say: Let our voices be heard! What does it hurt to send a couple letters to our Congressmen and Senators and remind them that we watch how they vote. Ban our guns and risk losing your job. A stamp and a signature. The media lets the Antis spout their crap, why should we sit silent? I'm sick of he...

Wild Things

I highly recommend their "High Loft Jacket". Good principles too: Wild Things is a US company. US citizens working in US facilities currently handle all of our product design and R&D efforts. As more US brands move design and production overseas, Wild Things strives to keep as many US ...

Re: Stigmatizing Gun Owners Makes Civil Debate Impossible

Demonizing the "opponent" is a recognized psy strategy for effective enemy categorization. Extremely effective as well. On the other hand it also forces the "opponent" to strengthen their internal defenses to such banter, thus creating a stronger unification system against exter...

I'm way behind on this show (we don't do cable), but I received Season 1 on DVD as a Christmas present from a co-worker. I made it through to the 2nd episode. Will seems like a stand up guy, but I couldn't get past the "first time this has ever been done" comments. It's a freaking "Ma...

Re: You are a N-Y state CCW permit holder: surprise!

I spent some time in upstate NY a while back. ADK's are breathtaking, but the state politics were abhorrent. Sure, I'll pay some of the highest taxes in the country that go to an irresponsible state assembly, downstate gutter trash, and pro-lib lobbyists that demonize me in the process. IMHO, The 5 ...

Re: Hunting with suppressor?

That's the only negative on firearm laws in VT. Suppressor's are a no go. I spoke with an official about the state's stance and it stems from the fear of excessive poaching. They should have NFA friendly realtor's. Too bad, VT seemed like a good place to live.

Bracken's book, "Enemies Foreign & Domestic" is a compelling read, well suited for the times. I remember reading it after the sunset of the original AWB. Some of the only fiction that I've enjoyed in recent memory.

I can't complain. I traded a Knight's lower for (2) NIB KBI imported SA-85's. Even gave 'em 3 days return policy. Just had to have that Knight's.

Probably could have listed it on ARF.com and traded it for a kidney

Whatever happened to Strider's JW series?

I'm not seeing an over abundance of double edged fighters lately, at least not fixed blade.
