Re: Suppressor for Mossberg Patrol in 7.62x51
Am using a Silencerco 7.62 Specwar can on a 12.5" 308 SBR. The rifle is a monster ... muzzle flash and concussion were simply astonishing without the suppressor. Earth shaking! Muzzle flash has been essentially eliminated and the noise is down to almost if not hearing safe. Concussion is still ...

Re: :-) MPX :-)
A little blowback ... not much actually. Wish they had cut the charging handle as the newer BCMs are cut. That would have eliminated it completely. Sighted it in today with 158 gr Fiocchi FMJ and an EoTech. Very nice indeed! Perhaps a little louder than my 3n37 handloads ... but not much. Rings stee...

Any comments on the quality of Fiocchi 9mm 158 gr ammo for suppressor use?

Re: Specwar 762 stuck
I shoot my Specwar mostly on a 12.5" P308 SBR. Always comes off easily. Can you not unlock the ring or is it not possible to turn the can on the threads? If is not possible to turn the can, you might try to get some penetrating oil into the area that could be collecting carbon at the slots in t...

Have never tried to make a video so not at all sure if I even have the stuff to do it. Load info 1) 9x19 150 gr FMJ projectile; CCI 500 primers; 4.7 gr 3n37; OAL = 1.159" Used the same load with 147 gr XTPs ... OAL = 1.120 I know it's an odd powder but have a bunch left from the IPSC days. Is v...

Son just brought home an MPX. We popped of the forearm and removed the flash hider. Thread is 13.5x1 LH. Mounted an Octane 9HD with that piston and a spacer cage and hit the range in the long side yard! Excellent suppression ... darned near Hollywood quiet with a 150 gr 1000 fps FMJ load I worked ou...

Re: 9mm can
I think the Octane 9 is still top of the line in 9mm only cans. If you ever think you're going to want to suppress a 45 ACP ... get a 45 cal can now and use it on the 9mm.
45 can may be a wee bit louder than the 9mm can and the tone is deeper. But is still very good!

Re: Huntertown Customer Service Is Horrible
Only cheap can I have is a 22 Kestrel. Sorry to hear that Huntertown has turned into a disaster. May have to have that little fella recored at some point. Works ok with the old High Standard pistol and the Savage FVSR that I use it with.
Glad I went with Octanes, Specwar, and Sakers after.

Only source of barrels authorized by Marty now is Paladin Machine Services. He doesn't fo 3 lugs. TROS makes a 5/8x24 threaded 3 lug that works beautifully. The precision of his machine work is lovely. I believe he made Marty's barrels. I had him make me a 10" bbl with his 3 way gas pstol posit...

I'd think the easiest way to become a provider in the US would be to become a US manufacturer.

Re: Two AR uppers in 9mm
TROS, Inc. makes thread-on 3 lug adapters for barrels. They work nicely. 3 Lug is very handy though not an inexpensive way to do the deed.
The Sakers will be no help as the bore of both is smaller in diameter than is a 9mm projectile.

Re: Can I do this? (Baffle swap)
Am curious ... why would you want the aluminum stack instead of the SS stack? Much harder to clean without damaging the baffles!
Is the weight that big a concern?

Re: Specwar, SRD762Ti, or ?
No one has asked what you're going to use the can on ... and that is important. I have a 30 cal SAS Titanium Arbiter that is light and wonderfully quiet. I don't think I'd use it or any titanium can where it would get really hot though. Have a Specwar and a Saker for that sort of service. The Specwa...

Re: Best subsonic bullet for 300AAC?
I do like things in the 220 gr range for subs as they tend to flat spin on impact. Very nasty on game. The 220 gr SMK, 225 gr Hornady OTM, and the 220 gr Nosler OTM all work quite well in my 1:8 16" 300 blk and my 1:7 8.5" 300 BLK.

Re: Shims and Rocksett problem
I always clean with 90+% isopropanol as the last step and blow dry. Then get the treads wet with Rocksett ... 2 drops seldom enough ... but be careful not to get any in the bore. I often put a patch into the bore and make sure it shows out the end of the muzzle. Then I heat it some with a heat gun ....

Re: Pricing?
I don't understand the dynamic here ... from SS's sale price of $899 to $1056 seems abrupt. Puts that can in a class just below SOCOM selected cans and higher than almost anything else. Have the Sakers developed that good a reputation? Is the market setting the price? (Must admit am damned glad I bo...

Re: Specwar or Saker
My 8.5" 300 BLK SBR wears a TROS 3 lug adapter and I use an Octane 9 HD or Octane 45 on it. Works fine for a confined spaces rig though not as quiet as it would be with a good 30 cal can.
TROS may not list the 5/8x24 thread adapter but they do make a run of them every once in a while.

Re: A new way to clean baffles??!!
Have used the method for internals made of 17 PH 4 stainless and seems to work fine. Would not use it for aluminum baffles at all.
