And about going Maglight, one can go that way but is will be heavy, and will not outperform a well designed and executed F1 or factory can. Re: My design for QA/QD Muzzle Brake

Below I've got three concepts. The main body will be a bit smaller than 1 inch O.D. with a 30* mating shoulder. (the O.D. at the top of the mating shoulder will be greater than one inch) The top design is apx. 3 inches long and will add apx. 2.5 inches to the barrel length. The first chamber is an ...

Re: My design for QA/QD Muzzle Brake

Separate chambers will be more effective.Keep your bore hole as small as possible.Mind this may not jive with some thought on legal issues but will net the most recoil reduction. I remember conversation about the construction of muzzle brake devices that used ported chambers could be considered a s...

Re: Fuel filter suppressor

I'm wondering how much blast abuse the filter material could take before it starts destroying itself from the muzzle to the end cap. Maybe for a pistol cartridge or .22lr, but I don't see that lasting long at all for a 5.56 even with a 16+" barrel. Strip the paper filter before serialization/u...

On History Channel today they said that Income Tax during Peacetime began with the Wilson–Gorman Tariff Act of 1894. (ch. 349, §73, 28 Stat. 570, August 27, 1894) Proposed and supported by the Democrats, this imposed the first peacetime income tax (2% on income over $4,000 or $88,100 in 2010 dollars...

I'm familiar with the work of C.F. and Q.A.T. in all of the briefs we had never saw a K baffle or one that used three bored sections that interfaced with the cone Never . Here is a page of 2-stage K-baffle pics that Capt Link says never existed. http://s748.photobucket.com/user/otdyel2/library/Kiss...

Your theory has little use in the building of a suppressor as the physics textbooks and scientific journals do not cover flow in a suppressor nor will CFD software or Wikipedia. The points you keep harping on will have the least effect on suppression.I know why a blast baffle has a hole into the coa...

Re: Alpha Baffles

Makes sense, especially for SEALs and soldiers traveling through/across rivers. Don't want can to blow up because enemy on far shore won't wait until your can empties. That would REALLY ruin my day!!! But those would need to be large dia holes for rapid fluid flow. Small holes would defeat the purpo...

Re: 'Helical Baffle Technology'

57fairlane's pic would be more effecient if the "teeth" were facing internally. This would provide plenty of heatsink surface area, lower Overall weight, and double as a blastchamber sleeve. The wedge-shaped teeth would also help collapse/cancel wavefronts like an anachoic chamber used in ...

Re: 'Helical Baffle Technology'

Still looks spiral fluted. Helical is a completely different look, there are successful cooling systems that use helical baffles that are actually helical. I used to have a pic of a SMG can that began with a coiled flat spring outside of a ported expansion tube to use this theory. There are mathmat...

I love to see the many variations of baffles made the world over but I don't see any special or novel concept with this baffle.I suspect it works well to suppress flash from such a short stack but doubt its as effective in suppression as a plain cone baffle of similar size frustrocone or not. https...

Copy of the Russian baffle below. You might want to produce them in 2 steps, your choice. Also this russian design uses a partial fructocone as the basis of its K so to say. Keeps the gas sticking to its inner walls, a well known coanda effect. http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/1039/krzpbaffle2.jpg ...
