Re: How's the HF 7x10 lathe?

Cpt Link - that Grizzly is $1300+ while the smaller mini lathes are around $400-$500. Guess it wouldn't matter if they were $1 if they aren't suited for the task, but is there anything in between that would work but for less? I've wanted a small lathe & mill for some time, but due to space &...

How's the HF 7x10 lathe?

For suppressor parts & the associated lathe work, will the harbor Freight (or the dozen variations of the Teig) 7x10, 7x12, or 7x14 mini lathes work? I'd bet for aluminum they'd be fine, but what about some of the harder steels or ti? I wouldn't expect .0001 precision or accuracy out of one, but...

Re: Will this work???

Drill the center hole @ 9/32 all the way throu first.... 0.281" for a 0.224" bullet even in the chambers closest to the muzzle? Almost 60 thou larger than the bullet diameter - is that about right or should it be tighter/looser closer/farther from the muzzle? Another thought/question on c...

Re: Recoil Boosters: No longer a pain in the ass ...

What does it do? Is it absolutely necessary? Is it something a reloader can get around by playing with bullet weight or charge or burn rate?

Re: Titanium?

So other than being lighter there would be no benefit or advantage using ti over SS?

Titanium?

Worth using? Would be nice & light, but much more effort for machining than something like aluminum. Considerably more costly too. But would it last much, much longer and be worth the initial upfront cost & difficulty? Thinking for a centerfire rifle - would that make erosion a negligible co...

Will this work???

Hi everyone. New here and new to suppressors. I've shot a few but never owned one. Going to go the Form1 route & make one. Not that I think I can do it better or cheaper than a manufacturer, but it looks like a fun project. Anyway, I want something that works well, but is very simple as far as c...
